It only remains to add that, according to Jervise in his Memorials of Angus, the Chapel was probably dedicated to "the Nine Maidens." Jervise says "The Nine Maidens 66 are said to have been daughters of St Donald, "a Scot, who lived among the Picts in the Glen "of Ogilvy. According to the legend, their "father and they lived in a hermitage, labouring "the ground with their own hands, eating but 66 once a-day, and then but barley-bread and "water.
