There were treated in the Hospital Department, 10,966 patients, and in the Refuge Department, 7,321-making in all 18,287 cases treated during the year. On this number the per centage of mortality was 8 5-12 per cent. Per centage of mortality on the population of the Institution, 10 per cent. Average number of days spent in Hospital by the patients who died, 33 4-5. The beds in the Hospital Department changed occupants on an average every forty days during the year, including phthisis and other incurable diseases.
