Página 79 - The alderman and assistant alderman of each ward, shall nominate to the mayor, one captain, one first assistant captain, and one second assistant captain of police, and as many policemen as the ward may be entitled to ; the mayor may appoint all or any of the persons thus nominated. Should the mayor reject any such nominations, other persons shall in like manner be nominated for such places.
Página 26 - If he approve, he shall sign it ; if not he shall return it. with his objections, to the board in which it originated, within ten days thereafter ; or if such board be not then in session, at its next stated meeting. The Board to which it shall be returned, shall enter the objections at large on their journal, and cause the same to be published in one or more of the public newspapers of the city.
