Agreeably to previous notice and by leave, Mr. Hamilton introduced bill No. 11, entitled "a bill for an act to amend an act entitled 'an act regulating taverns and groceries.'

Agreeably to previous notice and by leave, Mr, Manahan in troduced bill No. 12, entitled "a bill supplementary 'to an act en. titled an act eoncerning judgments and executions."

Mr, Crossman from the committee on engrossed bills, repor.. ted bill No. 7, entitled "a bill to provide for the punishment of of embezzling public money, to be correctly engrossed.

The following bills were announced for a third reading, viz : No. 7, (H. of R. file) entitled "a bill to provide for the punishment of embezzling public money."

Which was read the third time, passed and the title thereof agreed to.

No. 13, [C. F.] entitled "a bill fixing the time of holding the annual sessions of the Legislative Assembly and for other purposes,"

When Mr. Hamilton moved that it be referred to the committee on the judiciary.

Mr. Platt moved that the bill do lie on the table.

Which was agreed to.

No. 16, [C. F.]" a bill to repeal so much of the several acts of the Legislative Assembly of this Territory as authorizes the sale of any portion of the lands granted to the Territory by the act of Congress of June 18, 1833, to aid in the construction of the Milwaukee and Rock river canal, and to amend an act approved February 19th, 1841, supplementary to the several acts in relation to said canal."

On motion of Mr. Hamilton,

Ordered, To lie on the table.

Mr. Long, from the committee on enrolled bills, reported the following to be correctly enrolled, to wit:

"An act to organize certain towns therein named."

The Speaker signed the same, and it was ordered to be presented to the President of the Council for his signature,

Mr. Platt, moved that the House do now take up the resolution relative to the right of certain persons to seats in this House.

Which being put was disagreed to.

A message from the Governor, by his Private Secretary, Mr. Charles Doty.

To the House of Rrepresentatives:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt this morning of a joint resolution of the Assembly, passed on the 18th instant, relative to the present session of the Assembly; and to express my entire willingness to co-operate with the Council and House of Representatives in the despatch of the public business.

Mr. Darling, in accordance with previous notice, and by leave given, introduced bill No. 13, entitled "a bill in relation to the duties of certain Territorial officers."

Mr. Agry gave notice that he should on some future day ask leave to introduce bills as follows:

"A bill respecting actions of trespass on the case,” and

"A bill relative to the service of bills of exceptions in civil causes."

On motion of Mr. Darling,

The House proceeded to consider a motion made by Mr. Hopkins, to reconsider the vote taken on the 14th inst. by which a bill entitled "an act to amend an act authorizing Webster Stanley to maintain a ferry across Fox river, approved Feb. 18, 1842," was rejected:

A call of the House was made, and it appearing that a quo.

Further proceedings in the call of the House were dispensed with.

The question was then put on re-considering the said vote and determined in the affirmative by a unanimoous vote of the House, as follows:

Mr. Hopkins moved that the committee on enrolment be in. structed to again present the said bill to the Governor for his approval.

Which was determined in the negative.

Mr. Thompson from the committee on Territorial roads, to which bill No. 4, entitled "a bill concerning road taxes," was referred, reported the same to the House with an amendment. Which bill was read the second time.

A message from the Council by their Secretary:

"Mr. Speaker-I have been directed to inform this House that bill entitled "an act authorizing Webster Stanley to maintain a ferry across Fox river, approved Feb. 18, 1842," which had been returned by the Governor without his signature, has this day been re-considered, and passed the Council, ten members of the Council voting for said bill."

Mr. Meeker, from the committee on finance, to which bill No. 2, was referred, entitled "a bill supplementary to an act to a. mend an act for assessing and collecting county revenue," report. ed the same to the House without amendment.

On motion of Mr. Darling,

Resolved, That the committee upon the judiciary be directed. to inquire into the expediency of abolishing the office of Attorney General,

Mr. Crossman gave notice that he should on a future day, by leave introduce a bill to abolish the office of Auditor of the Ter ritory, and provide for the election of a comptroller of public ac. counts and Territorial Treasurer.

Mr. Walker gave notice that he should on a future day ask leave to introduce a bill to repeal all laws regulating the inter

est on money.
