Edward Johnston was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives at both the regular and special sessions. Joseph T. Fales was elected Clerk of the House of the 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th and 6th Legislative Assemblies, and Secretary of the Council in the 5th. He was also the first "Auditor of Public Accounts, the designation of which office was changed to that of Auditor of State by the Constitution of 1857. |
