northern barrier of this post-glacial lagoon, they descended to the sea-level at Grange House, where they were met and welcomed by the proprietor, Henry Cadell, Esq., who invited the party to luncheon. After lunch, Mr Cadell rose to express the pleasure he felt at seeing the members of the Society under his roof. Mr Ferguson of Kinmundy, vice-president of the Society, in reply, thanked Mr Cadell for his kind hospitality, and also Mr Henry M. Cadell for leading the party over the district and explaining its geological structure. As little time was left, the members had only an opportunity for a hasty glance over some fossils and objects of geological interest kept at Grange. They then left for Borrowstounness, and arrived in good time for the train leaving for Edinburgh at 6 o'clock.. INDEX.
