Now as the laft Plague or Judgment which came upon Pharaoh and his People, compleated Ifrael's Deliverance from the Slavery of Egypt; fo the Laft Judgment, contained in the 7th Vial or Trumpet, will compleat the Deliverance of all the Saints. This is very full in Verse 18. And the Nations were angry, and thy Wrath is come, and the Time of the Dead, that they should be judged: And that thou fhouldef give Rewards unto thy Servants the Prophets (and not only to them) but to the Saints, and all that fear thy Name, fmall and great; and shoulde deftroy them which deftroy the Earth. Well! Thus we see how wonderful the Effect of the 7th Trumpet founding is in the Deftruction and bringing the whole Measure of Wrath upon the Wicked; and the compleat Redemption or Deliverance of God's Ifrael.

There are Four things to be confidered in the Words. First, That there is a glorious Kingdom to be given, or to become the Kingdom of our Lord and his Chrift, upon the founding of the 7th Angel. This is fo fully expreffed in the Text, that I need not infift upon it any further: Therefore, fecondly, The Kingdoms that are at this time to become the Kingdoms of our Lord and his Chrift, are the Kingdoms of this World. This is fo full in thefe Words that nothing can be expressed in greater Plainnefs: However fome Perfons are very prone to refer all thofe Places of Scripture which hold forth the Kingdom of Chrift, either to a spiritual Kingdom of Grace here, or to a State of Glory in Heaven; it is certain thefe Words cannot have any colour for either: For how can this fpiritual Kingdom (with any fhew of Reafon) be faid to become Cc 2

the

the Kingdoms of our Lord and his Chrift, at the founding of the 7th Angel; when it was fo, under this Confideration, many hundreds and fome thoufands of Years before the 7th Angel founded. Again, it cannot be understood of a Kingdom in Eternal lory, because we no where read in the whole Book of God, that the Kingdom of Glory in Heaven is any where called the Kingdoms of this World. Befides that Kingdom cannot be faid to be come the Kingdoms of our Lord, which is to be given and deliver'd up by Chrift, after the Laft Judgment, unto God the Father. Therefore the Kingdoms that are at this time to become the Kingdoms of our Lord and his Christ, are, as it is very full in the Text, the Kingdoms of this World: Pray do but mind that Expreffion, This World. This World in which we live, which is now divided and fubdivided into many Kingdoms and Provinces, will become at the 7th Angel's founding, one entire Kingdom of the Mediator.

3dly, The Kingdom of this World is not to become the Kingdoms of our Lord and his Chrift, until the founding of the 7th Angel. The 7th Angel founded, and there were great Voices in Heaven, Jaying, The Kingdoms of this World are become the Kingdoms of our Lord and his Chrift. But fome may object, and fay, Are they not his Kingdoms now? Verily they are, and fo he is Lord of Lords now, and King of Kings; yet he does not fhew himfelf to be fo, as he will do in his Times: Who Jhall fhew himself in his Times to be the only Potentate, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, 1 Tim.vi. 15. The Kingdoms of this World are his now, and be bath right to them: But they do not yet appear

to

to be his, as they will when the 7th Angel fhall begin to found; then they will actually, openly, vifibly, and gloriously appear, in the open Face of Heaven and Earth, to become the Kingdoms of cur Lord and bis Chrift. This Word Our Lord and his Chrift, does thew that he will not only reign as Man, but as God, or as God Man Mediator: He will manifeft and difplay the Glory of his eternal Deity in his Kingdom: God now in a peculiar way will tabernacle with Men, and he will dwell with them, Rev. xxi. 3. So that the Kingdoms of this World, are not yet, in this Senfe, but certainly will become the Kingdoms of our Lord and his Chrift, as foon as ever the 7th Angel begins to found. Then loud Proclamations will be made, in the Heavens or Churches of Chrift, by an innume rable Company of Saints and Angels (fo loud as will make Heaven and Earth to ring) faying, The Kingdoms of this World are become (into his actual poffeffion) the Kingdoms of our Lord and his Chrift.

Fourthly, The Time when the 7th Angel will begin to found: And that will not be until Time fhall have an end, and the Myfteries of God and his Kingdom fall begin to be accomplished, as has been declared to his Servants the Prophets, Rev. x. 7. In fpeaking to this I fhall biefly touch upon the preceding Verfe, v. 1. And I saw another mighty Angel (as differing from all the reft) come down from Heaven, cloathed with a Cloud, and a Rainbow was upon his Head; and his Face as 'twere the Sun, and bis Feet as Pillars of Fire. Who can this mighty Angel be but Chrift, the Angel of the Covenant? Which is further fignified, First, From the diftinguishing Character, as, Another mighty Angel. Though others

are

are great and mighty, yet this is diftinguifhed from them as being more eminently fo. 2dly, In his Coming down from Heaven; which agrees unto his 2d Coming. Thirdly, His being cloathed with e Cloud, and it being faid, He hall come with the Clouds of Heaven. Fourthly, His having a Rainbow upon his Head, which is the Token of God's Covenant with him, the Covenant of free and abfolute Grace, made with Chrift on the behalf of his People. This will be feen by all the Saints in that Day of his glorious Appearance: They fhall then have a clear Sight of that Covenant, which will appear in open Face, on the Head of Chrift, for them to look upon, to fee their Intereft and eternal Happiness fecured in it. Fiftbly, His Face will fhine as the Sun, to denote the Brightnefs, Beauty, Luftre, and Glory, that will appear in Chrift, and caft its ravishing Beams of Glory and Sweetness upon the Hearts of all the Saints, to enlighten, warm, comfort, and eternally ravifh their Souls. If it be a pleasant thing for the Eyes now to behold the natural Sun: Oh how pleasant muft it be for the Saints to behold that glorious Sun of Righteoufnefs, the Lord Jefus Chrift, in that Day when there shall be nothing feen by them but Love, eternal Love and Sweetnefs fhining in his Face. 6tbly, And his Feet as Pillars of Fire. How does this agree with the Defcription of Chrift both in Daniel and in the 1ft of Revelations, to fignifie how terrible Chrift will be at that time, unto all his Enemies, by trampling upon, and burning up the Ungodly. Chrift's Face will not be fo glorious to the Saints, but his Feet will be as dreadful to the Wicked. 7thly, And be had in bis Hand a little Book open.

Sure

Sure then this can be no other but the Lord Jesus Chrift, that Lion of the Tribe of Juda, who only was found worthy to take the Book, to unloofe the Seals, and to open the Myfteries thereof. What is this Book then in Chrift's Hand, but the Book of God? Containing or comprehending all the Myfteries of Creation and Divine Providence; the Myfteries of Election, Redemption, and the Kingdom Glory, called the Mysteries of the Kingdom. This Book is faid to be open at this Time of Chrift's defcending from Heaven; to fhew that all the Myfteries of God, of the Father, and of Chrift; yea all the Myfteries of Salvation, will be opened, revealed, and unfolded, by Chrift to the Saints, in that Day. Eighthly, And he fet his Right Foot upon the Sea, and his Left Foot on the Earth. This doubtless does denote the abfolute Power and fovereign. Authority of Chrift over the whole World; the Earth and Sea making up but one Globe. Nintbly, And he cry'd with a loud voice, as when a Lion roareth. This Voice will be fo loud, as will make the Dead to hear it and come forth; fo terrible to the Wicked, as will make them call to the Rocks and Mountains to fall upon them and hide them from this Lion of the Tribe of Juda. Tenthly. And when he bad cried, Seven Thunders uttered their Voices. What thefe Seven Thunder's be, or the Matter contained in the Voices which thefe Seven Thunders uttered, we must be willing to remain in filence, because when John was about to write what was exprefs'd by the 7 Thunders, he beard a Voice from Heaven faying unto bim Seal up those things which the Seven Thunders uttered, and write them not. From whence we may obferve that God in his infinite Wifdom fees it meet

that
