AN ACT to provide for the payment of M. M.

Jackson's account for services as Atty. General:

Be IT Excred by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. There shall be paid out of the moneys in the territorial treasury, to Mortimer M. Jackson, two hundred dollats it being in full payment for his services as Attorney Genetal.

AN ACT to provide for the paylnent of A. Bot

kin's account for services rendered while Auditor of the Territory.

Be IT ENACTED by the Council and House of Represeritatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. There shall be paid to Alexander Botkin (late Auditor) for services feridered for registering claiinis agaidist the Territory, and reporting the same to the legislature id January, 1845, twenty-dollars; and for postage and stationery, ten dollats; which sums shall be in full payment for all services tendeted by him to the Territory.

AN ACT to authorize School District No. 16, in

Dane county, to levy a tax to build a school house. Be IT ENACTED by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That it shall and may be lawful for the trustees of School District No. 16, sixteen, in Danc county to levy an additional tax to the tax now allowed by last, not to exceed seven mills on the dollar on ihe assessment roll of said district for the purpose of erecting a school house in said district: Provided, that a majority of the legal voters in said school district who may bo present at any school meeting of the district called by the trustees of the district, whose duty it shall be to give not less than ten days' rotice thereof by posting a notice on the door of the present school house and also posting a notice on the door of the public house at Cottage Grove, stating the object of such meeting, shall tole in favor of levying the taxes authorized by this' act.

Sec. 2. The said tax shall be levied, collected and returned in the same manner that is now provided by law for the collec. tion of taxes for building school houses.

AV ACT to provide for the payment of Moses M.

Strong's account against the Territory. BE IT ENACTED by the Council and House of Representativer of the Territory of Wisconsin: SECTION 1. There shall be allowed and paid to Moses M.

Sulong nine hundred dollars out of any monies in the territorial treasury for professional services rendered, and expenses incurred, in prosecuting three several suits of the Territory against James D. Doly and others, which sum shall be in full for all such services and expenses previous to the (to the) passage of this act.

Sec. 2. The Treasurer of the Territory is hereby authorized and required to deduct from the aforesaid sum the sum of two hundred dollars, which sum is a balance due from said Strong to the Territory of the fund paid to bim as fiscal agent, which was left in his bands by a mistake of a committee of the Legislature in settling with him.

Sec. 3, Hereafter there shall be no fees or compensation paid to any attorney except the Attorney General for any services to be performed in the management of any suit or suits in behalf of the Territory.

AN ACT to provide means for the payment of the

interest on certain liquidated territorial bonds therein named.

BE IT ENACTED by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

Section 1. That there shall be paid out of the territorial treas. ury, the following sums of money, to wit: To Andrew Scho. field, the sum of eighty-eight dollars and eighty cents, on bond No. 30, dated February 19th, 1811, payable to Horario N. Wells, or his order, which said bond has been surrendered to the United States. To John W. Pixley, the sum of eighty.five dollars for interest on bond No. 15, of same date. Said bond was payable to David Donban, or order, for the sum of two hundred dollars, which was also surrendered. To La Fayette Kellogg, thirteen

dollars for interest on a bond dated 19th February, 1841, for fifty dollars, payable 10 James Sutherland, or order, also surrendered. To A. E. Elmore ten dollars and sixty-two cents for in terest on a bond payable to Adam E. Ray,or order, for the sum of seventy-five dollars, dated February 19, 1841, To George Beatty sixteen dollars for interest on bond No. 59, dated February 19th, 1841, payable to John S. Horner, or order, which was also surrender. ed.

AN ACT to provide for the payment to John Cat

lin, of interest on certain liquidated Territorial Bonds.

BE IT ENACTED by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION I. There shall be paid to John Cailin the sum of three hundred and six dollars and two cents, out of any moneys in the territorial treasury, for interest on six bonds issued on [the] 19th February, 1811, the same having been surrendered. Said bonds were issued to the following persons: One of forty-eight dollars to H, B. Townley; one of one hundred and forty-six doljars, and another of one hundred and fifiy dollars to George Benpett; and one for one hundrod dollars, and anoilier (for) one hun. dred and four dollars; and another for six hundred and eighıy. three dollars thirty.six cenis, to D. H. Richards: Prorided, That before the Auditor of the Territory shall issue any warrant for the payment of the interest on any bond, it shall be bis duty to examine the records of the Secretary's and Treasurer's office, for the purpose of ascertaining if said interest has not before been paid; and shall also require the applicant of such interest to file an affidavit in his office, that the interest on such bond or bonds is

justly and honestly due, and that no part ibercof has been paid.This provision shall apply to all appropriations made or to be made for the payment of interest on bonds during the present session of the Legislative Assembly.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of the claim

of Edward V. Whiton against the Territory. BE IT ENACTED by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

Section 1. That there shall be paid out of the territorial treasury 10 Edward V. Whiton, the sun of three hundred dollars in full for his claim against the Territory,

AN ACT to amend an act entitled "an act to pros

vide for the payment to the county of Dane the sum therein inentioned," approved February 22, 1845.

BE IT ENACTED by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

(SECTION 1.] That the sums appropriated by the act of which this is amendatory, 10 Augustus A. Bird, shall be paid to the said
