To divorce John Curtiss from his wife Ann Amanda Curtiss.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That the marriage contract now existing between John Curtiss and his wife Ann Amanda Curtis be, and the same is hereby dissolved, and the said parties are hereby restored to all the rights and privileges of unmarried persons. TIMOTHY BURNS,

AN ACT

To authorize John Morgan to keep and maintain a ferry across Lake St. Croix at Stillwater. in St. Croix county.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That John Morgan, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, shall have the exclusive right and privilege, for the period of ten years of keeping and maintaining a ferry across Lake St. Croix, from the town of Stillwater to a point directly opposite, subject to such regulations as other ferries are or may by law be subject to, fixing the rates of toll and the manner in which licensed ferries shall be kept and attended to; and no other ferry shall be established within two miles of the same.

SEC. 2. This act may be amended or repealed by any fu ture legislature of the territory or state within which such ferry may be situate.

AN ACT

To authorize the construction of a dam across the Pecatonica river, in Green county.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That Edward S. Hanchett, Charles Powell, and Cyrus Woodman, be, and they are hereby authorized to build and maintain a dam across the Pecatonica river, on any land by them owned on sections thirty-one and thirtytwo, in town one, range six cast, in Green county: Provid ed, that all the mills and machinery propelled by the water power thereby created shall be situate in the territory or state of Wisconsin, and no where else.

SEC. 2. That said mill dam shall not exceed six feet in height from low water mark, and shall be so constructed as to admit of the passage of all descending rafts or water crafts by constructing a good and sufficient chute or slide for the same, and also to construct a good and sufficient lock for all ascending water crafts so soon as said river shall be made navigable, and forever to be kept free for the same.

SEC. 3. The said dam, and the owners thereof, shall be subject to all the provisions of the act of the legislative assembly entitled "An act in relation to mills and mill dams," approved January 13th, 1840.

AN ACT

To divide the town of Centre, in Rock county, and to organize the town of Plymouth.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That all that part of the town of Centre, in the Town of Cencounty of Rock, embraced in township number two, north of tre divided. range eleven east, is hereby organized into a separate town to be known by the name of Plymouth, and that the first town meeting in said town shall be held at the house of Joseph Hokenshells.

JOINT RESOLUTION

Fixing the compensation of the officers of the present session of the Legislative Assembly.

Resolved by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

That all the officers of the legislative assembly of Wiscon sin territory, prescribed by the act of congress approved August 29th, 1842, shall each receive three dollars per day for their services during the present session of the legislative assembly; and when due to the officers of the council shall be certified to by the president and secretary thereof, and when due to the officers of the house of representatives shall be certified to by the speaker and chief clerk thereof.
