AN ACT

To vacate the town plat of Troy, in the county of Dane.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. That the village plat of Troy, situate on the north west fractional quarter of section thirteen, and the north east quarter of section fourteen, in town five, range twelve, in Dane county, be and the same is hereby vacated. TIMOTHY BURNS,

AN ACT

Requiring the superintendent of territorial property to perform certain duties.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

SECTION 1. In case the constitution shall be adopted by the people of Wisconsin the superintendent of public property shall repair the desks and chairs not now in use, and

SEC. 3. The auditor of the territory shall adjust and settle the accounts of the said superintendent for the works. mentioned and directed, and for the stationary purchased, and shall give his warrants for the payment thereof; and the sum of one thousand dollars is hereby appropriated as a contingent fund for the expenses mentioned in this act.

SEC. 4. That the superintendent is hereby authorized and instructed to paint or cause to be painted white the outside wood work of the capitol, the roof or shingling excepted. TIMOTHY BURNS,

RESOLUTIONS

Relative to Treasurer's accounts.

Resolved by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

That the auditor of the territory be and he hereby is instructed to credit Jonathan Larkin. esq., treasurer of the territory, the sum of forty-two thousand eight hundred seventyfive dollars and eighty-two cents, being the amount of the territorial indebtedness by him redeemed and this day cancelled by a committee of the legislative assembly.

Resolved, That there be and hereby is allowed to Jonathan Larkin, esq., the sum of eight hundred and sixty-two dollars and fifty cents, being one and one-half per cent. upon fiftyseven thousand five hundred dollars, by him received from the sale of canal lands, as compensation for his services for receiving and disbursing the same.

RESOLUTION

In relation to canal lands.

Resolved by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

That the register of canal lands be directed to ascertain the number and names of all persons who may have purchas ed lands on the Milwaukee and Rock river canal grant prior to January, 1847, and paid to the territory for the same a sum exceeding one dollar and twenty-five cents per acre; and that whenever he shall ascertain that any person has paid a greater amount per acre than one dollar and twenty-five cents for any of such land, he shall certify the fact to the receiver of moneys for the sale of canal lands, whose duty it shall be to re-pay to such person or persons the amount by them paid over and above the sum of one dollar and twentyfive cents per acre.

RESOLUTION

Concerning Receiver of Canal Lands.

Resolved by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin:

That the receiver of the canal lands be and is hereby authorized and required to pay out of the moneys received from the sale of the canal lands the interest due on the ten outstanding canal bonds; and that the said receiver, or the treasurer of the territory or state of Wisconsin, (as the case may be,) shall hereafter pay, as the same shall become due, all interest accruing upon the same.
