This College adopted, at its organization, a graded course of instruction, and was the first in this country to classify its pupils according to time and progress in study, as is habitually done in liter. ary and other scientific institutions.

For this purpose, the several branches embraced in the curriculum are divided into three series or groups, corresponding with the three years of professional study; and are taught in three consecutive Annual Courses of Lectures.

Each Course occupies nine months of the year, and is divided into two terms.

The first, or Spring Term, commences on the second Monday in March, and continues until the fifteenth of June.

The second, or Winter Term, commences on the first Monday in October, and continues until the first Tuesday in March following; at which time the Commencement Exercises take place.
