Senate met, pursuant to adjournment.

The journal of yesterday was being read, when,

On motion of Mr. Merritt, the further reading of the same was dispensed with, and it was ordered to stand approved.

A message from the House, by Mr. Dawson, Assistant Clerk: Mr. President: I am directed to inform the Senate that the House of Representatives has adopted the following resolution, to-wit:

Resolved, That the Clerk of this House inform the Senate that the House of Representatives is ready to receive any further communication from the Senate, and that the House is ready to adjourn sine die.

Adopted by the House of Representatives May 6, 1882.

A message from the Governor, by Edward F. Leonard, Private Secretary:

Mr. President: I am directed by the Governor to inform the Senate that he has approved and signed bills with the following titles, to-wit:

Senate Bill No. 2, "An act appropriating one-half of the interest on the College and Seminary fund for the ordinary expenses of the Illinois State Normal University, at Normal.'

Senate Bill No. 10, "An act to apportion the State of Illinois into Senatorial districts, and to repeal an act therein named."

Mr. Hunt, from the select committee appointed to wait upon his Excellency, the Governor, made the following report:

To the President of the Senate:

Your committee appointed to wait upon his Excellency, the Governor, to ascertain if he had any further communication to lay before the Senate, respectfully report that they have performed that duty, and were informed that he had no further communications to lay before the Senate at the present session.

Mr. Whiting, from the joint committee on enrolled bills, reports that a bill of the following title has been correctly enrolled, and, on the fifth day of May, 1832, laid before the Governor for his approval, to-wit:

Senate Bill No. 10, a bill for "An act to apportion the State of Illinois into Senatorial districts, and to repeal an act therein named." L. D. WHITING.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Hunt offered the following resolu

Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate be directed to inform the House of Representatives that the Senate has completed all business on its calendar, and is ready to adjourn sine die.

On motion of Mr. Hunt the rules were suspended, and the foregoing resolution was taken up for consideration.

On motion of Mr. Hunt, the resolution was adopted.

At 10:12 o'clock A. M., the President of the Senate declared the special session of the Senate of the Thirty-second General Assembly of the State of Illinois adjourned sine die.
