On motion of Mr. Lindsley, the amendment relating to holding an election in the Seventeenth District, in Davidson County, was not concurred in.

Mr. Wisener moved to amend by adding to the last amendment, a proviso that no State aid is granted.

Resolved by the Senate of the State of Tennessee, That in closing a long and arduous Session of this body, calling for the exercise of a patient and intelligent administration of the duties of Speaker, we hereby tender to the Hon. D. W. C. Senter, Speaker of this body, our thanks, for the patient and impartial and intelligent discharge of the duties of his position, impressed with his moral integrity and unflinching loyalty and devotion to the Government of the United States, and the Government of the State of Tennessee.

Mr. Rodgers offered Senate Resolution No., to-wit:

House Bill No. 317, was taken up on Senate amendment No. 1, non-concurred in by the House.

On motion of Mr. Patterson, the Senate receded from said amendment.

Mr. Norman, as Chairman of the Committee on Finance, returned Senate Bill No. 227, and requested that it lay on the table, as a Bill had passed the Senate containing the same subject matter.

So the Bill was laid on the table.

Mr. Elliott entered a motion to reconsider the vote passing House Bill No. 515, on its second reading.
