Senate Bill No. 36, was taken up on its third reading, and referred to the Committee on Incorporations.

Mr. Nelson entered a motion to reconsider the vote rejecting Senate Bill No. 35, on its third reading.

form the Senate that the House has passed House Bills Nos. 3, 20, 21, 28, 35, and 46; and adopted House Joint Resolutions Nos. 20, 22, 28, and 30, herewith transmitted, for the action of the Senate.

The Speaker announced a quorum present, and the minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.

Report No. 24, from the Committee on Public Grounds and Buildings, to-wit:

to the Senate the Report of the Superintendent of Public Grounds and Buildings, with the following instructions: That the Superintendent go forward and have the amount of work specified done, and report the charges to this body.

House Bill No. 3, on House Message No. 9, was taken up on its first reading, to-wit: "A Bill for An Act to Incorporate Crotton College, Monroe County.

Passed; and referred with a proposed amendment, to the Committee on Education and Common Schools.

House Bill No. 21, on House Message No. 9, was taken up on its first reading, to-wit: "An Act to Incorporate the Middle Creek Cemetery."

Passed.

House Bill No. 28, on House Message No. 9, was taken up on its first reading, to-wit: "An Act to Incorporate Euphrates Lodge No. 35, Independent order B. B. Sons of Covenant."

Passed.

House Bill No. 20, on House Message No. 9, was taken up on its first reading, to-wit: "An Act to change the time of holding the Circuit Courts in Fayette and Shelby Counties."

Passed.

House Bill No. 35, on House Message No. 9, was taken up on its first reading, to-wit: "An Act to Incorporate the Alexandria Lodge No. 75, of Free and Accepted Masons, in the County of DeKalb."

Passed.

House Bill No. 46, on House Message No. 9, was taken up on its first reading, to-wit: "An Act to change the place of comparing the vote in the fourth Senatorial District of this State."

Passed.

Senate Bill No. 6, was taken up on its third reading, on amendment offered by the Committee, to wit: "In second section, after the word "informer" insert "and the other half to the Public Schools of the State of Tennessee." instead of the words, "and the other half to the State of Tennessee." Add the following section to section 5th of the Bill: "And after the expiration of all licenses issued before the passage of this Act."

Adopted.

Mr. Cary moved to pass the Bill over informally.

Mr. Nelson moved in lieu, that the Bill be made the special order of the day for to-morrow at 10 o'clock, A. M.

Accepted in lieu; and carried.

Senate Bill No. 26, on Report No. 20, was taken up on its third reading, and the vote taken by ayes and noes on the passage, with the following result:

SEC. 2. Be it furthr enacted, That the parties applying for the subpoena shall pay the fees to the officers and witnesses before they shall be compelled to issue or serve the process, or attend as a witness, which fee shall be the same as for similar services before Justices of the Peace.

Adopted; and the Bill passed.

Senate Bill No. 32, on Report No. 16, was taken up on its second reading, and passed over informally.

Senate Bill No. 33, on Report No. 17, was taken up on its second reading, and rejected.

Senate Joint Resolution No. 18, was taken up on Report No. 14, for adoption.

House Joint Resolution No. 20, was taken up, on House Message No. 9, to-wit: Raising a special Committee on Immigration. On motion of Mr. Smith, the Resolution was laid on the table. House Joint Resolution No. 22, was ta ken up on House Message No. 9, to-wit: Authorizing the Governor to remove any Receiver or Directors on the part of the State, on Railroads or Turnpikes, whenever, in his opinion, the interest of the State would be promoted.
