A Further Supplement to the corporate act of the City of Paterson, and the supplement thereto, approved March twenty-fourth, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight.

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of Additional the State of New Jersey, That all laws directed to be published designated to by the act to which this is a supplement, or the supplements publish the thereto, in any of the newspapers published in the city of Trenton, shall be published in the "Emporium," a daily newspaper printed and published in the city of Trenton; and in the "New Republic," a newspaper printed and published in the city of Camden, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Camden; and in the "Spirit of the Times,'

a newspaper printed and published in Egg Harbor City, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Atlantic; and in the "New Jersey Democrat," a newspaper printed and published in the city of Newark, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Essex; and in the "Constitutionalist," a newspaper printed and published in the town of Plainfield, in the county of Union, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Union; and in the "Orange Record," a newspaper printed and published in the city of Orange, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Essex; and in the "Weekly Bergen County Times," a newspaper published at Englewood, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Bergen; and in the "Hudson City Gazette," a newspaper printed and published in Hudson City, all laws as are authorized to be printed in the county of Hudson; and in the "Evening Journal," a newspaper printed and published in Jersey City; and in the "Sussex Record," a newspaper printed and published in the county of Sussex, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Sussex; and in the "Washington Star," a newspaper published in the county of Warren, all laws as are authorized to be published in the county of Warren; for which publication they shall be entitled to receive the same compensation as is allowed the publishers of other newspapers published in this state for said work, and that this act shall take effect immediately.

An Act to authorize the Township Committee of the township
of Dover, in the county of Ocean, to open, work, grade
and repair the public roads, streets, avenues and sidewalks
in said township.

walks in the township of Dover, in the county of Ocean, shall hereafter be under the control, direction and supervision of the township committee of said township, who shall designate and employ such and so many agents, and for such compensation as they shall deem expedient in the premises, and who shall have the control and disposal of all moneys raised, or to be raised in the said township for said purposes.

3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER DIII.

An Act to confirm the acknowledgments and proofs of deeds, mortgages, and other statements in writing, taken by Frederick Clever.

WHEREAS, It appears to the legislature that Frederick Clever, Preamble. of Egg Harbor City, in the county of Atlantic, and state of New Jersey, was on the in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-, duly elected by the senate and general assembly of this state, in joint meeting, a commissioner for the county of Atlantic at Egg Harbor City, to take the acknowledgments and proofs of deeds or mortgages, or of any other instrument in writing under hand and seal required by the laws of this state, to be acknowledged or proved; and whereas, the said Frederick Clever proceeded, under the said appointment, to take acknowledgments and proofs of deeds, mortgages, and other written instruments, and from misapprehension of the laws of this state, continued to take them longer than said laws authorized him to do, by reason of which defective acknowledgments and proofs, innocent

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of ed and legal- the State of New Jersey, That no acknowledgment or proof of any deed, mortgage, or other instrument in writing heretofore taken and certified by the said Frederick Clever shall be deemed defective by reason of such acknowledgment or proof having been taken and certified after his term of office had expired; but all such acknowledgments and proofs shall have the same validity and effect as if the said Frederick Clever had been, at the time of taking and certifying such acknowledgments or proofs, duly authorized by law to take and certify the same.

2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER DIV.

A Supplement to an act entitled "An Act to incorporate the Lahlatang Iron Works," approved March fifth, eighteen hundred and sixty-eight.

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of name changed the State of New Jersey, That the name of the corporation created by the act to which this is a supplement, be changed to the name of "The Taylor Iron works."

2. And be it enacted, That all the legal rights and liabili ties of said corporation shall remain the same as if this act had not passed, and that this act shall take effect immediately. Approved April 17, 1868.
