The amendments of the committee of the whole to No. 33, (H. of R.) were then concurred in.

Mr. Thomas moved further to amend the 9th section by inserting in the 3d line, after the words “ Abraham Nottingham,” the names of James Weaver and John Hustis;

Which was agreed to.

Said bill was then ordered to be engrossed for its third reading,

Those who voted in the affirmative were,

Those who voted in the negative were, Messrs. Barstow, Billings, Brawley, Brown, Burnett, Crawford, Cruson, Earll, Fisher, Jones, Mooers, Morrow, Parker, Phelps, Thomas and Darling, (Speaker,)-16.

Mr. Mooers moved to refer said bill to a select committee, consisting of the delegation from the Brown district.

Mr. Hoard moved to amend the motion by referring said bill to the committee on Corporations.

Mr. MaGone moved to postpone the further consideration of said bill' until the 4th day of July next;

Which was decided in the negative.
And a division having been called for,
There were ayes 9-noes 17.
The question then recurred on the motion of Mr. Hoard,
And having been put,'
It was decided in the negative.

The question then recurred on the motion of Mr. Mooers,
And having been put,
It was decided in the allirmative.
And a division having been called for,
There were ayes 15--noes 11,

On motion of Mr. Jackson,
Mr. Mooers was added to said committee.

No. 45, (C.) was then taken up, and, on motion, ordered to be read a third time now.

It was then read the third time, passed, and the title thereof agreed to.

No. 41, (C.) was then taken up; when
Mr. MaGone moved to lay said bill on the table ;
Which was agreed to.

Resolution No. 7, (C.) was taken up, and, on motion, ordered that it be read a third time now.

The said resolution was then read the third time, passed, and the title thereof agreed to. No. 55, (C.) was then taken up; and

On motion of Mr. MaGone, It was referred to a select committee, consisting of the delegation from the Brown district,

A message from the Governor, by Geo. P. Delaplaine, his Private Secretary:

“Mr. Speaker-I am directed by the Governor to inform you that he did, on the 26th inst., approve, sign and deposit in the office of the Secretary of the Territory,

*An act to provide for the canvasing the votes cast at the general election held on the 4th Monday in September, 1845, in the county of Marquette ;' and

* An act giving further time to appeal from the decisions of judges of probate.'

I am also instructed to deliver to you a message in writing.” A message from the Council, by their Secretary: “Mr. Speaker–The Council have passed

No. 23, (H. of R.) • A bill to repeal an act entitled 'an act to incorporate the Wisconsin Marine and Fire Insurance Company.'"

No. 46, (H. of R.) was then taken up; and . On motion of Mr. Billings,

The rule requiring bills, &c. to be engrossed before being read the third time, was dispensed with in reference to this bill.

Said bill was then read the third time, passed and the title thereof agreed to.

No. 47, (H. of R.) was taken up, and, on like motion, the same rule was dispensed with in reference to this bill.

The said bill was then read the third time, passed, and the title thereof agreed to.

On motion of Mr. Burnett, The further consideration of No. 41, (H. of R.( was postponed indefinitely

. On motion of Mr. MaGone, The further consideration of No, 19, (H, of R.) was postponed indefinitely.

Mr. Burnett moved that the rule requiring bills, &c. to be engrossed before being read the third time, be suspended in reference to No.48, (H. of R.) and that said bill be read a third time now; : .

Which was agreed to.

Said bill was then read the third time, passed, and the title thereof agreed to.

No. 54, (H. of R.) was ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The communication from the Governor was taken up, and read as follows: To the House of Representatives :

By a law approved February 20th, 1845, for the location of the remaining unlocated lands granted by Congress for a uni- • versity for this Territory, John T. Haight, Esq. was appointed the agent on the part of the Territory to complete the location of the lands. His report is respectfully submitted to the House of Representatives.

HENRY DODGE. EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT, Jan. 27, 1846."

On motion of Mr. Billings, The communication, together with the report therein referred to, was referred to the committee on Schools.

Mr. Phelps, from the committee on Enrollment made the following report:

The joint committee on Enrollment report that they did, on this day, to wit. the 27th day of January, A. D. 1846, present the following bills and memorial to the Governor for his approval, to wit:

"An act to amend the fourth section of an act entitled 'an act for assessing and collecting county revenue,' approved February 19th, 1841 ;"

" An act to provide for re-locating the seat of justice of Sauk county and for other purposes ;"
