Mr. Morrow introduced the following resolution:

"Resolved, That the committee on Corporations are hereby instructed to report upon the Rock River Mutual Insurance Company bill, or return the same to the House against tomorrow morning."

Mr. Dennis moved to amend by adding, "and also to report all the Mutual Insurance Company bills which have been referred to them;"

Which was agreed to.

And the question having been put on the adoption of the resolution, as amended,

It was decided in the negative.

Mr. Sheldon moved to re-consider the vote of this morning by which the House refused to pass No. 15, (H. of R.)

Which was agreed to.

Mr. Billings moved that the Ilouse resolve itself into committee of the whole on the general file of bills;

Which was agreed to.

Mr. Billings in the chair;

And after some time spent therein, the Secretary of the Council was announced, when the Speaker took the chair and the following message was received, to wit:

The joint committee on Enrollment report as correctly enrolled :

"An act in relation to the formation of a State Government in Wisconsin ;"

"An act to authorize school district No. 1, in the town of Rochester, to levy a tax ;"

"An act to authorize school district No. 1, in Platteville school district to build a school house," and

"Resolution for the appointment of a committee to examine the Bank of Mineral Point;"

The committee of the whole by their chairman reported No. 59, (H. of R.) "A bill to authorize school district No. 2, in Sheboygan county, to levy a tax for building a school house;"

No. 40, (H. of R.) "A bill to suppress the sale of ardent spirits ;"

No. 67, (C.) "A bill to organize certain towns in Jefferson county;"

No. 66, (H. of R.) "A bill to amend an act entitled' an act to incorporate the town of Platteville;" and

No. 64, (H. of R.) A bill to establish a territorial road therein named ;"

Without amendments; and

No. 43, (H. of R.) "A bill to provide for the organization* of the county of Jackson and for other purposes;"

No. 57, (H. of R.) "A bill defining the time for taking appeals from the vote of school district meetings, and for other purposes;"

No. 52, (H. of R.) "A bill to authorize Jemison Hamilton to build and maintain a bridge across the Pecatonica river at New Bedford, in Iowa county;"

No. 54, (C.) "A bill to change the form of government of the county of Dane;"

No. 42, (H. of R.) "A bill to amend an act entitled 'an act to amend an act to establish the rate of toll for grinding;" No. 68, (C.) A bill fixing the salary of the Auditor and Treasurer of the Territory;"

No. 58, (H. of R.) "A bill regulating the mode of granting licenses to sell ardent spirits ;"

No, 45, (H. of R.) "A bill to amend the several acts of this Territory concerning the supreme and district courts;" and

No. 61, (H. of R.) "A bill relative to a territorial road;" With amendments to each;

And also reported progress on the general file of bills, and asked leave to sit again thereon.

Leave was granted.

Mr. Billings moved to amend No. 68, (C.) by adding the following:

And the Auditor and Treasurer are hereby allowed the further sum of fifty dollars each per annum, to meet the incidental expenses of the offices, from the said 4th day of February, 1845;"

Which was decided in the negative.

The said bill was then ordered to its third reading;

And, on motion,

The rule having been first suspended for the purpose,

It was read the third time, passed, and the title thereof agreed to.

Bills Nos. 59 and 66, (H. of R.) were then ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. MaGone moved that No. 61, (H. of R.) be referred to a select committee of three;

Which was agreed to.

The Chair appointed Messrs. MaGone, Mooers and Earll the said committee.

Mr. MaGone moved to amend No, 40, (H, of R.) by striking out all after the enacting clause;

Which was agreed to, and

On motion of Mr. MaGone,

The said bill was laid on the table.

No. 67, (C.) was then taken up, and ordered to its third reading now by its title.

The said bill was then read the third time, passed, and the title thereof agreed to.

Mr. Billings moved to lay No. 64, (H. of R.) on the table; Which was agreed to.

No. 54, (C.) was then taken up, and

And the question having been put on concurring in the amendments of the committee of the whole to said bill, It was decided in the affirmative.

The question was then put on ordering said bill to its thirdreading,

Which was decided in the affirmative.

And the ayes and noes having been called for,
