A message from the House of Representatives, by Mr. Dougherty, their Clerk:

Mr. President: The House of Representatives agree to the conference asked by the Senate on the disagreeing votes of the two Houses on the amendment proposed by the House of Representatives to the amendments proposed by the Senate to the bill, entitled "An act to provide for paying to the state of Missouri three per cent. of the nett proceeds arising from the sale of the public lands within the same," and have appointed managers at the said conference on their part.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives having signed two enrolled bills, I am directed to bring them to the Senate for the signature of their President. And he withdrew.

The President signed the two enrolled bills last reported to have been examined, and they were delivered to the committee, to be laid before the President of the United States.

Agreeably to the order of the day, the Senate resumed, as in committee of the whole, the consideration of the bill, entitled "An act supplementary to the acts to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary war;" Mr. King, of Alabama, in the chair; and,
