APRIL 24. A Grain of Mustard Seed. HEREUNTO shall we liken the kingdom of God? It is like a grain of mustard seed; which, when it is sown in the earth, is the least of all seeds; but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree; so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

S. MATT. xiii.; S. MARK iv.

The Harvest.

IS disciples came, and said, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; the field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all that offend, and them that do iniquity. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. S. MATT. xiii. 36–43.

APRIL 27.

Hid Treasure. ESUS said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

S. MATT. xiii. 44.

The Pearl of Great Price.

GAIN, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant-man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. S. MATT. xiii. 45, 46.

APRIL 29.

The Net.

GAIN, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world.

APRIL 30.

Things New and Old. ESUS saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. Then said he, Every scribe which is instructed in the kingdom of heaven is like a man that is an householder, who bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old. S. MATT. xiii. 51, 52.

Deliverance.

ND they came into the country of the Gadarenes ; and there met him a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs, neither could any man tame him; And when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him; and cried, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, the son of the most high God. I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For Jesus had said, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. S. MARK v. 1—8.

Restoration.

MAY 2. ND the people of the city came out and saw him that had been possessed of the devil, sitting, clothed, and in his right mind, and they were afraid. And when Jesus returned into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed that he might be with him. But Jesus said, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
