ON THE VIGILS OF SAINTS' DAYS.

"GOD shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."-Rev. xxi. 4.

Great and marvellous are Thy works, LORD GOD Almighty.

Just and true are Thy ways, Thou King of Saints.

All Thy works praise Thee, O LORD; And Thy Saints give thanks unto Thee.

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

O ye holy and humble men of heart, bless ye the LORD: praise Him and magnify Him for ever.

Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.

O ye servants of the LORD, bless ye the LORD: praise Him, and magnify Him for

ever.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

O ye holy and humble men of heart,

bless ye the LORD: praise Him, and magnify Him for ever.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.

O ye servants of the LORD, bless ye the LORD: praise Him, and magnify Him for

ever.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

O ye holy and humble men of heart, bless ye the LORD: praise Him, and magnify Him for ever.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see GOD.

O ye servants of the LORD, bless ye the LORD: praise Him, and magnify Him for

ever.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of GOD.

O ye sons of men, bless ye the LORD: praise Him, and magnify Him for ever. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

:

O let Israel bless the LORD: praise Him, and magnify Him for ever.

O LORD, do Thou give me grace, in union with all Thy Saints, to watch and pray always, that at Thy Coming Thou may

est say even to me, "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy LORD." Amen, blessed LORD, Amen.

May all the Saints of GOD make intercession for us:

And the LORD grant us a portion in all the prayers and sacrifices of His Church! "There is neither speech nor language: but their voices are heard among them.

"Their sound is gone out into all lands: and their words into the ends of the world." O glorious Lights, who chased away the dulness of the world, we celebrate your festal memory.

Of heavenly love ye had the wings: wherefore, accounting the pleasant things of this life as dross, ye were rapt with desire towards GOD.

O faithful Champions of GOD! ye did stand before the tribunals of men with unconquered boldness, nobly proclaiming the Incarnation of Him That emptied Himself to the form of a servant, our Redeemer.

Stained with bloody drops, O saints and martyrs, ye reign for ever with CHRIST, interceding for the world.

Ever blessed is the earth with your blood, and the Church of the First-born is gloriously illustrated with your wounds. Alleluia.

O Almighty and Everlasting God, we beseech Thee of Thy Goodness to accept our high praise and hearty thanks for all Thy works of grace which Thou hast wrought in Thy blessed Saints, and which by them Thou hast bestowed upon Thy Holy Church from the beginning of the world; for them, as also for all other Thy happy servants, our fathers and brethren, who have departed this life with the seal of faith, we magnify Thy glorious Name, and beseech Thee that we may continue in their holy communion, and by Thy grace so follow their good examples, that at the last we may with them attain to the resurrection of the just, through JESUS CHRIST Our LORD. Amen.

Our FATHER, &c.

PSALM LIV. Deus, in Nomine.

Save me, O GOD, for Thy Name's sake: and avenge me in Thy strength.

Hear my prayer, O GOD: and hearken unto the words of my mouth.

For strangers are risen up against me: and tyrants, which have not GOD before their eyes, seek after my soul.

Behold, GOD is my helper: the LORD is with them that uphold my soul.

He shall reward evil unto mine enemies : destroy Thou them in Thy truth.

An offering of a free heart will I give Thee, and praise Thy Name, O LORD: because it is so comfortable.

For He hath delivered me out of all my trouble and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

Glory be to the FATHER, &c.

As it was in the beginning, &c.

LITANY FOR SAINTS' DAYS.

Remember not, O LORD, our offences, nor those of our forefathers: neither take Thou vengeance of our sins.

LORD, have mercy.

CHRIST, have mercy.
LORD, have mercy.

O GOD the FATHER, Who wast pleased to cause Thine only SON JESUS CHRIST to be, through the operation of the HOLY GHOST, born of the Blessed Virgin Mary;

O LORD, Who dost send Thine angels and archangels to minister unto Thy people;

Have mercy on us.
