HIS PORTMANTEAU is admitted by all who have used it to be the most PERFECT and USEFUL of any yet invented, and to combine all the advantages so long desired by all who travel.

The peculiar conveniences of this Portmanteau are, that it contains separate compartments for each description of Clothes, Boots, &c.; each division is kept entirely distinct, and is immediately accessible on opening the Portmanteau, without lifting or disturbing anything else. Every article is packed perfectly flat, and remains so during the whole of the journey.

It is situated on the Quay, facing the Bridges, and commands the finest view of the Seine, and the magnificent scenery encircling Rouen, that it is possible to imagine. Travellers will find at this first-rate establishment every comfort-airy Rooms, good Beds, Refreshments and Wines of the best quality at moderate prices. An excellent Table d'Hôte at half past five, price 3 francs. Restaurante à la carte. Mr. Delafosse speaks English and has English servants.

SMITH, in returning her grateful thanks for the patronage she has so long been favoured with, begs to inform travellers who visit the fine old city of Rouen, that it is her constant study to render her Hotel worthy of the reputation it has enjoyed of combining comfortable accommodation with reasonable prices. It has been recently enlarged and splendidly fitted up, and now contains large and small apartments. Restaurants and Table d'Hôte. The apartments are still shown which those personages occupied at that period. English spoken. Divine Service in English is performed in this Hotel, in the private Saloon, specially devoted to that purpose. [36

quiet Hotel, in the Great Square, opposite the Kursaal, and close to the theatre. Charges reasonable. (Murray's Handbook, 1852, page 211.) Mineral and cold baths of all descriptions, newly fitted up in the English style. The Bath-inaster and mistress speak English. Galignani and other journals. Table d'Hôte at One and Four o'clock.
