Mr. Newell moved that the reading of the journal of yes. terday be dispensed with;

Which was agreed to. Mr. Botkin presented a petition from the grand jurors of Dane county, asking to be allowed to use chairs not in use in the capitol.

And also introduced the following resolution, which was adopted, to wit;

"Resolved, by the council and house of representatives, That the superintendent of territorial property be directed to furnish the grand jury of Dane county, now in session, with chairs, not in use in the capitol, during their present session."

Mr, Stewart introduced No. 2, (H. of R.) “Resolution relative to the publication of the laws of the present session;"

Which was adopted.
A message from the council, by their secretary:

"Mr. Speaker-I am directed to inform you that the couns cil have passed

No. 1, (H. of R.) • Resolution relative to the use of chairs in the capitol.'”

Mr. Mooers, from the select committee to whom was referred
