A BIOGRAPHICAL, HISTORICAL AND STATIS-
JNO. W. PACE AND H. J. MOCK,
THE JOURNAL PUBLISHING CO.,
N the compilation of the Blue Book the authors have had two objects in view, viz.: to give the public a reliable reference book as to the statistics of Montana, Territory and State; second, to give sketches of the men in public places." Due care has been taken to make the statistical portion of the work accurate and reliable, and we have succeeded in collecting a large number of facts and putting them in comprehensible shape. It is hardly reasonable to suppose that EVERY figure is correct, but we place the book before its patrons with confidence that it will, as a whole, be found trustworthy.
The biographical feature of the book is, in some cases, rather barren of detail, but this fact can be attributed to the modesty of the men in relating the events of their lives. We feel satisfied that the Blue Book contains facts which will be interesting and useful to every citizen of Montana, and an accession to the library of every professional man, official and writer in Montana. Most of the portraits in this book are from photographs by the well-known artist, Lowry, of Helena and Bozeman.
We desire to acknowledge our thanks to the State and legislative officials, to COL. W. F. WHEELER, and to the newspaper men of the State for courtesies extended.
JNO. W. PACE,
HORACE J. MOCK,
