SUGGESTIONS FOR SUPERVISED PHYSICAL

ACTIVITY PERIODS IN

RURAL AND VILLAGE
SCHOOLS

The Michigan School Code provides that communities of over three thousand shall offer in their school curricula training in physical education and shall provide a director for that work. Other districts may do so. This Bulletin has been prepared entirely with a view to suggesting simple, interesting, and usable material for those Rural and Village schools that at the present time do not have any physical education program and are without equipment, trained teacher leadership, or time allotment for such activity.

Appreciation for work done on this Bulletin is due the following Grade School Committee of the State Council of Physical Education: Ethel Rockwell, Kalamazoo; Ruth Dunbar, Grand Rapids; Florence List, Bay City.

Valuable suggestions were received also from W. P. Bowen, Ypsilanti; Elmer Mitchell, Ann Arbor; Carl P. Schott, Kalamazoo. The material was compiled and edited by Miss Lera Curtis, Assistant State Director of Physical Education.
