The report of the Committee on Canvass of Votes for Judges of Probate, recommending that the Canvassers' report be accepted and ordered on file in the office of the Secretary of State, was received from the House, the report having been accepted and ordered on file.

The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

The report of the Committee on Roads and Bridges, recommending that the annual report of the Middletown & Meriden Turnpike Company be accepted and ordered on file in the office of the Secretary of State, was received.

The eighth annual report of the Insurance Commissioner, Part 2d, Life and Accident Insurance, was received and referred to the Committee on Incorporations.

REPORTS ON PETITIONS.

Petition No. 16. The report of the Committee on the State Prison, on the petition of George E. Scofield et al. for release

of John Waring from state prison, recommending that the petitioners have leave to withdraw, was received from the House, the report of the committee having been accepted, and the petitioners granted leave to withdraw.

The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

Petition No. 37. The report of the Committee on the State Prison, on the petition of Joseph Kimball for release from state prison, recommending that the petitioner have leave to withdraw, was received from the House, the report of the committee having been accepted, and the petitioner granted leave to withdraw.

The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

Petition No. 50. The report of the Committee on the State Prison, on the petition of John Sydenham for release from state prison, recommending that the praper thereof be granted, and submitting a resolution, was received from the House, the resolution having been passed, the prayer of the petition granted, and the report of the committee accepted.

Petition No. 101. The report of the Committee on State Prison, on the petition of Chas. E. Gilbert, for release from the State Prison, recommending that the petitioner have leave to withdraw, was received from the House, the report of the Committee having been accepted, and the petitioner granted leave to withdraw.

Petition No. 143. The report of the Committee on Incorporations, on the petition of New Britain Turner Society for amendment of charter, recommending that the prayer thereof be granted, and submitting a resolution, was received.

The order of the day being the Report of the Committee on Finance on an act entitled "An Act to restrain the taking of Usury" was taken up, and after debate, retabled.

REPORTS ON RESOLUTIONS.

The Report of the Committee on Incorporations, on the resolution amending Charter of the New Haven Gas Light Company, recommending the passage of the resolution, was received from the House, the resolution having been passed, and the report accepted.

The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

The report of the Committee on Incorporations, on the rseolution amending the Charter of the Young Men's Christian Association of Meriden, recommending the rejection of the resolution, was received from the House, the resolution having been rejected and the report accepted.

The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

REPORTS ON REPORTS.

The report of the Committee on Railroads, recommending that the Annual Report of the New Haven and West Haven Horse Railroad Company be accepted and ordered on file in the office of the Secretary of State, was received. The report was accepted and ordered on file.

MISCELLANEOUS.

On motion, ordered, that the standing order of adjournment be 9 1-2 o'clock A. M., until otherwise ordered.

On motion the Election of Judges of the Superior Court was made the Order of the Day for Thursday, June 19th, at 10 1-2 o'clock A. M.

On motion the President declared the Senate adjourned.

Petition No. The petition of Christian Haaga et al., German Citizens of the State, in relation to the Bill for the Suppression of Intemperance, was received from the House, having been referred to the Committee on Sale of Spirituous Liquors.

The Senate concurred in the reference.

RESOLUTIONS.

House Joint Resolution No. 79. A resolution instructing the Judiciary Committee to report .if, in their judgment, any additional legislation is necessary in relation to the placing of obstructions on railroad tracks, was received from the House, having been passed.

The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

REPORTS ON PETITIONS.

Petition No. 19. The report of the Committee on New Towns and Probate Districts, on the petition of James Marks et al., to be set off from Windsor to East Granby, recommending that the petitioners have leave to withdraw, was received from the House, the report of the Committee having been accepted, and the petitioners granted leave to withdraw. The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

Petition No. 62. The report of the Committee on the Judiciary, on the petition of Henry Dyer et al., for authority to sell and divide cemetery lots in Sprague, recommending that the prayer thereof be granted, and submitting a bill for a public act, was received.

The bill was passed, the prayer of the petition granted, and the report accepted.

Senate Bill No. 45. The report of the Committee on Banks, on a bill entitled "An Act in addition to an Act Concerning Communities and Corporations," recommending the rejection of the bill, and the passage of a substitute therefor, was received.

House Bill No. 23. The report of the Committee on the Judiciary, on a bill entitled "An Act in addition to An Act relating to ferries,"" recommending the rejection of the bill and the passage of a substitute therefor, was received from the House, the substitute bill having been passed and the report of the committee accepted.
