The resolutions appointing Railroad Commissioners were received from the Committee of Conference, it reporting no agreement.

The Senate adhered to its former action.

A resolution paying William A. Goodwin three hundred and fifty dollars for legislative statistics, was received from the House, having been passed.

The Senate concurred in the action of the House.

Hon. Mr. Landers of the First District, introduced a resolution for printing fifteen hundred copies of the Report of the Railroad Commissioners.

The resolution was passed.

REPORTS ON PETITIONS.

Petition No. 3. The report of the Committee on New Towns and Probate Districts, on the petition of N. W. Holcomb et al. to be set off from Canton to Simsbury, recommending that the prayer thereof be granted, and submitting a resolution, heretofore rejected by the Senate, was received from the House, the resolution having been passed, the prayer of the petition granted, and the report of the committee accepted.

The Senate reconsidered, and concurred in the action of the House.

REPORTS ON HOUSE BILLS.

House Bill No. 7. The report of the Committee on the Judiciary, on a bill entitled "An Act repealing an Act entitled 'An Act in addition to an Act relating to Courts,"" recommending the rejection of the bill, was received from the House, the bill having been passed, and the report of the committee accepted.

The bill was indefinitely postponed and the report rejected, by the following Yea and Nay vote:

The report of the Committee on the Judiciary, on a bill entitled "An Act in addition to an Act relating to Electors and Elections," recommending the rejection of the bill, and the passage of a substitute therefor, was received from the House, the substitute bill having been passed, and the report of the Committee accepted.

House Bill No. 150. The report of the Committee on Sale of Spiritous Liquors, on a bill entitled "An Act in addition to an Act entitled An Act in addition to an Act concerning

Crimes and Punishments,"" heretofore amended and passed by the Senate, was received from the House, it having adhered to its former action.

The Senate adhered.

The majority and minority reports de new State House, with the accompanying documents, were received.

Hon. Mr. Hoyt of the Twelfth District, introduced a substi tute resolution.

The substitute resolution was amended and passed, and the other resolutions were rejected.

On motion, ordered that when the Senate adjourn it be to meet at 2:30 this afternoon.

On motion the President declared the Senate adjourned.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON, July 11th.

The President called the Senate to order at 2:30 P. M.

The report of the Joint Select Committee, appointed to examine and report concerning the foundations of the new State House, was received and ordered on file in the office of the Secretary of State.

RESOLUTIONS.

Hon. Mr. Hoyt of the Twelfth District, introduced a resolution appointing a Select Committee to recall resolutions appointing Superior Court Judges.

Hon. Mr. Barton of the Seventeenth District, introduced a resolution paying Edward A. Cornwall eighteen dollars for expenses of State prison Committee.

The resolution was passed.

A resolution appointing David J. Peck Associate Judge of the City Court of New Haven, heretofore passed by the Senate, and the motion to reconsider laid on the table, was taken up and the motion to reconsider was rejected.

A resolution appointing Earl Martin, of Killingly, a Judge of the Superior Court, was received from the House, having been passed.

An amendment substituting John J. Penrose, of Plainfield, was passed by the following yea and nay vote:

REPORTS ON HOUSE BILLS.

House Bill No. 11. The report of the Committee on the Judiciary, on a bill entitled "An Act for a Bureau of Labor Statistics," recommending the rejection of the bill and the passage of a substitute therefor, heretofore amended and passed by the Senate, was received from the House, it having insisted on its former vote passing the substitute bill without amendment, and asking a committee of conference.

The Senate granted a committee, and Senator Hoyt was appointed.

Senate Bill No. 54. A bill entitled "An Act repealing 'An Act to create and establish a Court of Common Pleas in New London county.""

The bill was indefinitely postponed.

House Bill No. 79. The report of the Committee on the Judiciary, on a bill entitled "An Act in alteration of an Act entitled 'An Act in addition to an Act relating to Electors and Elections,"" recommending the passage of the bill, was received from the House, the bill having been passed, and the report of the committee accepted.

The Senate rejected the bill and the report.

A resolution authorizing the governor to appoint a Board of Commissioners for the erection of a new State House, amended and passed by the Senate at its morning session, was received from the House, the amendment having been rejected and the resolution passed:
