Mr. Banks offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That the petitions and all the papers in the claims of Thos. P. Richards and Johanah Maria Kirchner, be taken from the files and referred to the committee on claims.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said resolution, and it was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Morgan and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Protectives No. 1, of the city of Rochester," was recommitted to the committee on the judiciary, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Crowley and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to legalize the election of constable of the village of Batavia, in the county of Genesee," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

On motion of Mr. Creamer and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the Assembly bill entitled "An act to authorize the supervisor and justices of the peace of the town of Yonkers, in the county of Westchester, to convey certain real estate in the town of Yonkers, to the Yonkers Hospital Association," was recommitted to the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties, with power to report complete. On motion of Mr. Murphy and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to provide for the completion of the improvement of Third street, in the city of Brooklyn," was recommitted to the committee on municipal affairs, with power to report complete.

Mr. Graham, from the committee on banks, to which was recommitted the bill entitled "An act to incorporate The Security Savings Bonk,' of the city of New York," with power to report complete, reported the same complete, with amendments, which report was agreed to and said bill ordered engrossed for a third reading.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Chapman asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to authorize the construction and maintaining of a free bridge over the Susquehanna river, in the towns of Union and Vestal, and for the purchase of the franchise of the Union Vestal Bridge Company, and to borrow money therefor," which was

By unanimous consent, Mr. Murphy asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Ship Owners' Association of the State of New York," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on commerce and navigation

By unanimous consent, Mr. Beach asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act to promote the construction of elevated railways in the counties of New York and Westchester," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on railroads.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Beach asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled "An act supplementary to chapter 489 of the Laws of 1867, and to enable the city of New York to collect and use revenue, in certain cases," which was read the first time, and by unanimous consent was also read the second time, and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

On motion of Mr. Folger and by unanimous consent, the rules were suspended, and the bill entitled "An act to incorporate the Geneva Savings Bank," was recommitted to the committee on banks, with power to report complete.

After some time spent therein, the President resumed the chair, and Mr. Mattoon, from said committee, reported in favor of the passage of the first named bill, without amendment, which report was agreed to, and said bill ordered to a third reading.

Mr. Mattoon, from the same committee, reported progress on the two last named bills, and asked and obtained leave to sit again.

Mr. Folger moved that the Senate adjourn.

The President put the question whether the Senate would agree to said motion, and it was decided in the affirmative, as follows:

Mr. Parker presented a remonstrance of citizens of Franklin county, against State aid to railroads, which was read and referred to the committee on finance.

Mr. Thayer presented a petition of supervisors of Washington county, for the passage of Assembly bill No. 152, allowing a majority of said board to locate county buildings, which was read and referred to the committee on the judiciary

Mr. Pierce presented a petition of firemen of Brooklyn, for proposed amendment of Fire Laws, which was read and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.

Mr. Van Petten presented a petition of 300 citizens of New York, in favor of present Excise Law, which was read and referred to the committee on internal affairs of towns and counties.

Mr. Nichols presented a petition of citizens of Buffalo, and of Erie county, for aid in constructing the Buffalo and Washington railway, which was read and referred to the committee on finance.

Mr. Hale presented a remonstrance of citizens and tax payers of New Brighton, against the passage of an act to amend an act entitled “An act to incorporate said village," which was read and referred to the committee on municipal affairs.
