Sec. 5. and counsellor at law for said city, for such period, not exceeding one year, and for such compensation, not to exceed five Compensa hundred dollars for a year, and at the same rate for any less period, as the common council shall determine; the person with whom such contract is made shall not be entitled to receive during its continuance, or for services rendered during its continuance, besides his salary, any fee or reward whatever which shall be paid out of or withheld from the treasury of the city. Sec 2. That section six, of title four, of said act, be amended so that the same shall read as follows:

Sec. 7. The said supervisors shall deliver their assessment rolls to said board of review at the time of their first meeting,

Sec. 20.
