Mr. Bartlett presented the petition of S. Lord and eighteen others, residents of the town of Morgan, praying for the enactment of a law regulating railroad tariffs; Which was referred to the Committee on Railroads.

Joint resolutions relating to reciprocity in trade with the Dominion of Canada,

Were taken up as the special order for this time (three o'clock).

The question being stated, Shall the resolutions be adopted on the part of the House? on motion of Mr. Grout of Barton, they were

Ordered to lie and made the special order for next Thursday afternoon, at three o'clock; and the Clerk was directed to procure the printing, if possible, of three hundred copies of what he believes to be a copy of the proposed reciprocity treaty.

Reported in favor of its passage, when amended in section one, line five, by striking out the words, "A. W. Gray and Sons," and inserting in lieu thereof the words The A. W. Gray and Sons Manufacturing Company; also, in section three, lines twelve to fifteen, by striking out the words, "All stock issued by said corporation shall be taken to be full paid stock, and shall not be liable to assessments,"

The House agreed to the proposed amendments, and the bill, as amended, was read the third time and passed.

Mr. Sprague moved to amend the title of said bill so as to read, The A. W. Gray and Sons Manufacturing Company. The motion was agreed to and the title so amended.

Mr. Bliss, from the Committee on Manufactures, to whom was referred House bill entitled

H. 109. An act to incorporate the Buzzell Manufacturing Company;

Reported in favor of its passage;

Whereupon the bill was read the third time and passed.
