Joint resolutions from the Senate as follows: WHEREAS, The original rolls of Captain Giles Harrington's Militia Company, called into service for the suppres sion of the Northern Frontier disturbance at Alburgh, Vermont, in April, 1839, bear evidence of having been altered without authority, by attempting to change figures " 6 and 5" into figures "8 and 3" in several places on said rolls, and it also being manifestly the intention of the maker of said rolls that the original, unaltered rolls should be the true and correct rolls of said company; now, therefore Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives, That, with a view of furnishing a correct and authentic record of the service of said company, the original rolls of said company before such alterations were made, be and hereby are declared and adopted as the true and genuine rolls of said company, and the Secretary of State is hereby directed to record such original rolls in his office, without reference to such unauthorized alterations, as the proper evidence of the service of said company; Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives, That a joint standing committee, to consist of two Senators and three Representatives to be denominated the Committee on Fisheries, be appointed, to whom shall be referred all bills, petitions and other matters relating to the protection or preservation of fish in the waters of this State; Were severally read and adopted in concurrence.
