COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE FILE NO. 205.

A bill for an act to amend section seventeen hundred and ten (1710) of the code, relating to insurance other than life.

Be it Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Iowa:

Section 1. That section seventeen hundred and ten (1710) of the code, relating to insurance other than life, be amended by adding thereto the following:

"Any stock company organized under the laws of this state, or authorized to do business in this state, which is permitted to do business under either paragraph two (2), five (5) or six (6) of the preceding section, may, subject to the other restrictions in this section and to the conditions hereinafter stated, transact in this state any or all of the following kinds of insurance, to wit: Fidelity, accident, employers' liability, plate glass, steam boiler and burglary insurance.”

Provided, That for each of said kinds of insurance done, such companies must have fifty thousand dollars in paid up capital stock invested or deposited, as required by law, for the common benefit of all its policy holders, and that separate fees must be paid for each kind of insurance desired to be written, as provided by section 1752 and amendments thereto.

In the title strike out all after the word "districts."

In line 1 of section 1 strike out the word "five" and insert twentyfive."

In line 1 of section 9 insert the word "school" before the word "elec ions."

In line 1 of section 9 strike out the words "regulated by this act" and insert the following: "in independent districts having a population of two thousand or more."

COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE FILE NO. 353.

A bill for an act to amend section twenty-seven hundred and fifty (2750) of the code, relating to special elections of school corporations.

Be it Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Iowa:

Section 1. That section twenty-seven hundred and fifty (2750) of the code, be and the same is hereby amended by striking out of the third and fourth lines of said section the words "whenever the corporation has lost the use of a schoolhouse by fire or otherwise," and also by striking out all of said section after the word "schoolhouse" in the seventh line, and

inserting in lieu thereof the words "including interest on bonds, and for obtaining roads to such schoolhouse."

Sec. 2. This act, being deemed of immediate importance, shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the Iowa State Register and the Des Moines Leader, newspapers published in Des Moines, Iowa.
