That the country contained within the boundary lines of Manitouwoc county, be, and the same is hereby set off as a separate town by the name of Manitouwoc; and the elections in said town shall be held at the public house at Manitouwoc Rapids, at the Steam Saw mill, and at the public house at the mouth of Manitouwoc River.

All that district of country west of Green Bay, north of the north line of township twenty-seven north, and east of the Oconte. division line between ranges eighteen and nineteen, in the county of Brown, shall be a separate town by the name of Oconte; and the elections in said town shall be holden at Farnsworth's mill, and at Jones' mill.

SEC. 36. Townships twenty-five, twenty six, and twenty-seven in ranges eighteen, nineteen, twenty, and twenty-one, on the west side of Green Bay, shall be a separate town by the name of Pasaukie; and the elections in said town shall be holden at Navricong's mill, and at Matthew's mill.

SEC. 42. All that district of country within the limits of Fon du Lac county, not included within the towns of Calumet and Butts des Morts, shall be a separate town by the name of Fond du Lac ; and the elections in said town shall be holden at the dwelling house of M. C. Darling.

SEC. 43. So much of fractional townships twenty-two and twenty-three, in range twenty, as lies on the east side of Fox river; fractional township twenty-two, in range twenty-one; so much of fractional township twenty-three in range twenty-one, as lies south of the section line, extended west between sections twelve and thirteen; and so much of the private claims on the east side of Fox river as lies south of the south line of No. eleven of private claims; fractional township twenty two, in range twenty, and so much of fractional township twenty-three, in the same range, and all the private claims on the west side of Fox river, not included in the town of Howard, shall be a separate town by the name of Depere; and the elections in said town shall be holden at the court-house in Depere.

SEC. 44. All the district of country included in the private claims, on the east side of Fox river, lying north of the south line of Green Bay. lot no. eleven of private claims; so much of fractional township twenty-three in range twenty-one as is not included in the town of Depere; and sections from twenty-eight to thirty-six inclusive, in fractional township twenty-four, range twenty-one shall be a separate town by the name of Green Bay, and the elections in said town shall be holden at the town house in Green Bay.

SEC. 45. All that district of country on the east side of Green Bay, not included within the town of Green Bay, lying north of the township line between towns twenty-three and twenty-four, shall be a separate town by the name of Bay Settlement, and the elections in said town shall be holden at the dwelling house of Lewis Rouse.

SEC. 46. All that district of country lying within the present limits of Portage county shall be a separate town by the name of Portage, and the elections in said town shall be holden at the Franklin House at the Portage, and at Marcy's mill on the upper Wisconsin.

SEC. 47. Townships twenty-one, twenty-two and twenty-three, Kewaunee: in ranges twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four, and twenty-five,

shall be a town by the name of Kewaunee.

SEC. 48. The polls of election in each of the towns as abore

established, shall be at the house or houses at which the polls were Elections where opened at the period of the last annual election, unless herein held. otherwise expressed, or unless some change has since been made by the County Commissioners, or shall hereafter be made according to the provisions of this act.

SEC. 49. The Board of County Commissioners are hereby authorised and empowered, whenever they shall deem it for the convenience of the inhabitants of any town, and the petition being presented to them, of not less than twenty qualified voters of such town, to cause the polls of election to be opened at some other place in addition to the place or places where they have heretofore been opened. But there shall not be more than four different places at which the polls shall be opened in any of the above towns; nor shall the polls be opened at more than one house in any township of six miles square, as set off by the original survey.

SEC. 50. The inhabitants of each town as established by this act, may elect on the day of the general election, not exceeding stables. three constables. But in those towns, where the seats of justice are placed, there may be four constables elected.
