Missionary Society REPORT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS To the Convention : Pursuant to Article 5 of the Constitution, the Board of Directors of the Missionary Society makes its annual report of Appropriations and other proceedings for the year 1897-8, as follows: APPROPRIATIONS AND APPORTIONMENTS At the last Convention (see Journal 1897, page 72), it was voted that a sum not exceeding $11,000, in addition to the proceeds from the funds of the Society available for the purpose, be expended in carrying on the Missionary work of the Diocese during the then ensuing year; and that said sum be apportioned among, and appropriated to, the several Archdeaconries, as the Board of Directors might deem best. The proceeds from the funds held as above stated, and other sources, were estimated at $1,300, making, with the $11,000 to be raised, the sum of $12,300. Appropriations were made as follows, viz.: For Missionary work: Fairfield Archdeaconry, $1,750.00 For Insurance and other expenses, Total Appropriations, $12,858.00 To meet these Appropriations, said sum of $11,000 was apportioned among the several Archdeaconries on the basis of the number of Communicants as reported in the last published Journal (1897), the rule adopted in 1882, as follows: |
