RESOLVED, That a copy of the foregoing resolution be signed by the President and chief Clerk of this Legishtive Council and forwarded to the Honourable Joseph M. White.

Which was read and taid on the table until to-morrow. Mr. Hawkins from the committee on Eurolments reported as correctly Enroled:

"An Act to prohibit the circulation of incendiary publications."

"An Act to organize a Regiment in the county of Columbia to be called the 12th Regiment."

"An Act to amend an act entitled an act to amend an act entitled an aet to organize and regulate the militia of the Territory of Florida, and to repeal an act passed 1st day of February 1832, and for other purposes.”

"An Act to authorize Thomas Cooper to establish a Ferry across the Escambia river,” ani

“An Act to authorize the guardian or tutor of the minor heir of Daniel E. Burch d'reased, to sell the real estate of the said heir within this Territory."

The resolutions offered on yesterday by Mr. Blount, were again read and adopted; and Messrs. Blount, Hawkins, Wood, Burritt and M’Cants were appointed on the select committee required by said resolutions.

The resolution offered yesterday by Mr. Brown of Columbia was again read and adopted.

A bill entitled, “An Act to authorize the county court of Escambia county to admit to probate the last will and testament of Antonio Villaverde deceased," was read the third time and passed: ordered that the title be as above set forth.

A bill entitled, “ An Act for the relief of Paul M'Cormick of Leon county," was read the third time the yeas and nays being required by mesars. Berthelot and Duval on its passage, were Yeas Mr. Presi lent Messrs. Berthelot Blount, Brown of Columbia, Burist, Dennis, Hawkins, Higginbotham, Hunter, Johnson, Kenan. M'Cants, M' Neil, Morton, Ramsey, Walker and Wood-17. Nays Messrs. Brown of Jackson, Duval, Macon and Tabor-4. So said bill is passed: ordered that the tile be as before set forth.

A bill entitled, "An Art to authorize the guardian or tutor of the minor heir of Jayene Fontenals and Yila, to sell and dispose of the real estate of said heit within this Territory," was read the third time and passed. ordered that the title be as before set forth.

A bill entitled, "An Act to fix the place of holding the

Superior and County courts in and for the county of Alachua," was read the third time and passed: ordered that the title be as before set forth.

A bill entitled, "An Act to raise a Regiment of Volun teers in this Territory," returned rejected by the Governor, was taken up from the orders of the day for reconsideration: Mr. Blount moved that the further consideration of said bill be indefinitely postponed: the yeas and nays being required on said motion by Messrs. Hawkins and Duval, were Yeas Mr. President, Messrs. Berthelot, Blount, Brown of Columbia, Burtist. Dennis, Higginbotham, Johnson, Kenan, Macon, M'Cants, M'Neil, Morton, and Ramsey- 14. Nays Messrs. Brown of Jackson, Duval, Hawkins, Hunter, Tabor, Walker and Wood-7. So said motion prevailed, and the further consideration of said bill is indefinitely postponed.

A bill entitled, "A. Act to amend an act to prevent tresspasses and depredations on lands within the jurisdiction of the Territory of Florida,” was read the third time when ou motton of Mr. Berthelot the House went into committee of the whole thereon: after some time spent therein the committee rose, and M. Burritt therefrom reported said bili without amendament which report was concurred by the House, and said bill was read the third time and passed: ordered that the title be as before set forth.

The House then adjourned until to-morrow merning at 11 o'clock.

Wednesday, January 27

The House met pursuant to adjournment, a quorum being present the journal of yesterday's proceedings was

read.

Mr. Downing, the member elect from the county of Mosquito appeared, and on motion of Mr. Duval was qualified, and admitted to take his scat.

Mr. Hawkins from the majority moved a reconsideration of a bili entitled, An Act for the relief of Paul M'Cormick of Leon County," passed on yesterday with a view to amend the same, which motion prevailed, and said bill is placed among the orders for to day.

Mr. Buínitt asked and obtåmed leave without previous notice (the rule being for that purpose waived) to introduce a bill entitled, “An Act to amend the several acts now in force relating to roads, highways and bridges," which was read by the title and referred to the committee on the State of the Territory.

Mr. Tabor pursuant to notice heretofore given, asked and obtamed leave to introduce a bill entitled, An Act to authorize Wiljam M. Lofton, to establish a ferry cross

the eastern arm of St. Andrews Bay," which the rule be ing waived for that purpose, was read the first, second and third time and passed: drdered that the title be as above set forth.

Mr. M'Cants presented the petition of James J. Cuthbert and others, relating to a ferry across the Wakulla river," which was read and referred to the committee on the State of the Territory.

Mr. Brown of Jackson presented the petition of Samuel L. Solomon, which was read and referred to the Judiciary committee.

Mr. Blount from the Judiciary committee, as instructed by said committee, reported unfavourably upon the following bills:

A bill entitled, "An Act to repeal an act therein men

tioned."

A bill entitled, "An Act for the relief of James S. Freshwater," and

A bill entitled, "An Act to alter aud amend an act giv ing a lien to mechanics in certain cases," which report was concurred in by the House.

Mr. Morton' from the committee on the State of the Teritory to whom was referred the petition of Jared P. Barber, reported a bill entitied, "An Act to authorize Jared P. Barber to establish a ferry across the St. Marys' river," which was read by the title, and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Also a bill entitled, Au act to incorporate the Pensacola Steam Saw-mill company," which was read by the title and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Wood from the committee on Banks, to whom the same had been referred, reported without amendment a bill entitled, “An act to amend an act to incorporate the Central Bank of Florida,” which was read the second time and made the order of the day for to-morrow, ad twenty-five copies are ordered to be printed.

Also a bill entitled, "An act to amend the Charter of the Union Bank of Florida," which was read by the title aud ordered for a second reading on to-morrow, and 25 copies are orded to be printed.

Mr. Berthelot from the committee on Internal Improvements, to whom said bill had been referred, reported without amendments a bill entitled, "An act to incorporate the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico Rail Road company," which was read the second time and made the order of the day for Wednesday the 3d of February next, and 25 copies ordered to be printed.

Mr. Hawkins from the committee on Enrolments reported as correctly Euroled:

"An act to authorize the guardian or tutor of the minor heirs of Jayene Fontenals and Ylla to sell and dispose of the real estate of the said heir within this Territory."

"An act to amend an act entitled an act to prevent trespasses and depredations on lands within the jurisdiction of the Territory of Florida."

"An act to fix the place of holding the the Superior and county courts in and for the county of Alachua."

And a resolution requesting the Delegate to get an act of Congress passed to give to Columbia county a section of land for county purposes."

A bill entitled, "An act to incorporate the Florida Insurance and Banking Company," was taken up from the orders of the day, when on motion of Mr. Blount the House went into committee of the whole thereon: after some time spent therein the committee rose, and mr. Duval therefrom reported said bill with amendments, which report was concurred in by the House, and said bill was reed the sscond time and ordered for a third reading on to-mor

row.

A bill entitled, "An act for the relief of Paul M'Cormick of Leon county," was taken up from the orders of the day, when on motion of mr. Hawkins the House went into committee thereon: after some time spent therein the committee rose, and Mr. Blount therefrom reported said bill to the House with amendments, which report was agreed to and (the rule being waived) said bill was read the second and third time and passed ordered that the title be as above set forth.

The House then adjourned until to-morrow morning at 10 o'clock.

Thursday, January 28.

The House met pursuant to adjournment, a quorum being present the Journal of yesterday's proceedings was

read.

mr. Blount gave notice that he will on to-morrow ask leave to introduce a bill to authorize the guardian of the minor heirs of Thomas Wright deceased, to sell their real estate within this Territory.

mr. Burritt gave notice that he will on some future day ask leave to introduce a bill to be entitled, "An act to change the time of holding the Spring term of the county court of the county of Duval.”

mr. Hawkins pursuant to previous notice asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled, "An act to amend an act to incorporate a company, called The St. Andrews and Chipola Canal company,' passed the 3d day of February 1832," which was read by the title and referred to the Judiciary committee.

On motion of mr. Blount, mr. Downing was added to the committer on the Judiciary; on Finance; on the State of the Territory and on Internal Improvements.

mir. Burritt asked & obtained leave without previous notice (the rule being for that purpose waived) to introduce a bill entitled, "An act in addition to an act to establish & regulate the rates of pilotage for the St. Johns' and Nassau Rivers," which was read by the title and referred to the committee on the State of the Territory

mr. Hawk as from the committee on Eurolments reported as correctly Enroled:

An act to incorporate the city of Key-West."

"An act to authorize William M. Lotin to establish a ferry across the eastern arm of St. Andrews Bay."

"An act to authorize the county court of Escambia county to admit to probate the last will and testament of Antonio Villaverde deceased," and

Certain resolutions requesting the Delegate to use his exertions to procure the establishment of a Post Office at Webbville and other purposes.

mr. Duval from the select committee to whom was referred a bill entitled, "An act to regulate the patrols of the Territory of Florida," reported said bill to the House and reported unfavourably thereon: the House refused to concur in said report and said bill motion of mr. M'. Cants, was referred to the Judiciary committee.

A bill entitled, “An act to organize a conuty to be called Dade county," was taken up from the orders of the day for a third reading, when on motion of mr. Morton said bill was amended, no one dissenting thereto, by striking therefrom the seventh section: when said bill was read the third time and passed. ordered that the title be as before stated.

A bill entitled, “An act to authorize Jared P. Barbor to establish a ferry across the St. Marys' river," was read the second and third time (the rule being waived) and passed; ordered that the title be as above stated.

inr. Smith a member elect from St. Johus' county, appeared and on motion of mr. Downing, was qualified and admitted to take his seat in this House.

On motion of mr. Blount, mr. Smith is added to the committee on the Judiciary, on Finance; on the State of the Territory and on Internal Improvements.

A bill entitled, "An act to incorporate the Pensacola Steam Saw-mill company," was again read and ordered for a third reading on to-morrow.

On motion of mir. Duval, a bill entitled," An act to amend an act to incorporate the Central Bank of Florida," was postponed and made the order of the day for
