A bill entitled an act to authorise John Whitehurst, Guarnian of the minor children of Lextus Camp, dec. to sell certain land in the county of Jackson.

And a bill entitled an act to authorise Andrew Loring, administrator of Barna McKinne, dec. and guardian of R. McKinne, to sell certain lands and execute conveyance for the same, which two last bills were on motion of Mr. Long placed upon the orders of the day for to-morrow.

A bill entitled an act for the relief of the heirs of Jos. Delespine, dec. was read the second time, and ordered to be referred to the committee on claims.

A bill entitled an act to declare Holmes Creek in Washington county, a navigable stream, was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading on to-mor

row.

A bill entitled an act for the relief of the inhabitants of E. Florida, was on motion of Mr. Wood referred to a committee of the whole-the House in committee took the same under consideration, after some time the committee rose, and Mr. Marvin, chairman thereof, reported progress on said bill and asked that the committee have leave to sit again, which report was concurred in by the house.

Mr. Brown on yesterday, offered the following resolution: Resolved, That when this house adjourns on Saturday the 4th of February next, it shall adjourn sine die, which was again read, and on motion of Mr. Downing, was laid on the table till the 4th day of February next.

A bill entitled an act to amend the charter of the city of Pensacola, was read the second time, and on motion of Mr. Downing, laid on the table till to-morrow.

The following resolutions offered on Tuesday by Mr. Read were again read and adopted.

Mr. Read begs leave to offer the following resolutions:

1 Resolved, That the committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of limiting by law the time within which appeals from the decisions of the courts of this Territory may now be taken, to the period of two years.

2 Resolved, That the committee on Finance be instructed to inquire into the expediency of levying a tax on all incorporations of this Territory, in the charters of which no such provision has been inserted, in such manner as to render the tax thus levied as nearly equal as possible on the different incorporations mentioned.

3 Resolved, That the committee on Elections be instructed to inquire into the expediency of changing the time of hol

ding the elections for Delegate and Members of the Legisla tive Council, in such manner as to make them both occur on the same day.

A bill entitled an act to provide for the erection of tombstones over the graves of Major Washington and Lt. Yerger was read the second time and postponed till to-morrow.

A bill entitled an act to amend the charter of the Tallahassee Rail-road Company, was laid on the table till to-mor

WEDNESDAY, Jan. 25, 1837. The House met pursuant to adjournment: a quorum being present, the Journal of yesterday's proceedings was read.

Mr. Kenan pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act, to establish an Academy in the County of Gadsden, and to incorporate the Trustees thereof, which was read, and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Wood, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act, incorporating the Franklin Bank of Florida, which was read and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Read gave notice, that he will on to-morrow introduce a bill, to be entitled an Act to amend an Act to incorporate the Central Bank of Florida.

Mr. Long, from the majority, moved to reconsider the vote taken on the day before yesterday, on the passage of certain resolutions concerning a draft of the militia now ordered,. which motion prevailed, and said resolutions are, on motion of Mr. Fitzpatrick, placed first among the orders of the day for reconsideration on this day.

Mr. Shehee presented the memorial of John Bellamy praying an Act of incorporation for clearing out the navigation of the Ocilla River, which was read and referred to the committee on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Fontane from the committee on enrolments, reported as correctly enrolled, an act to amend an Act to incorporate the town of Jacksonville, which was signed by the President.

Mr. Read from the Judiciary committee to whom was referred the petitions of the citizens of St. Marks, praying an Act of incorporation, reported a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Town of St. Marks, which was twice read, the rule being waived, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Read from the select committee, to whom had been referred the petition of James A. Berthlot and others, reported a bill entitled an Act, to authorize certain commissioners therein named, to raise a certain amount of money by Lottery for the purpose of building a Masonic Hall in the city of Tallahassee, which was twice read, the rule being waived, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading on Friday next.

Mr. Hart, from a select committee, to whom had been referred the petition of Mary Falana, made the following

REPORT:

The committee to whom was referred the petition and other documents of Mary Falana, praying to be divorced from her husband, James Falana; have the honor to report, that they have had the same under consideration, and find by the accompanving affidavit, that James Falana the husband of the said Mary Falana, has abandoned her, for many years; and that he does not nor will not contribute any thing towards a living for the said Mary Falana.

A majority of the committee therefore, ask leave to report a bill for the relief of the said Mary Falana.

THURSDAY, Jan. 26, 1837. The House met pursuant to adjournment: a quorum being present, the Journal of yesterday's proceedings were read. Mr. Read, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill, to amend an Act to incorporate the Central Bank of Florida, which was read and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Hart, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill, entitled an Act to establish a Ferry across St. John's River, at the Cow-ford; which was read and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Hart presented the petition Mary Soland, praying to be divorced from her husband, which was read and referred to a select committee. Messrs. Hart, Fernandez, and Gilliland were appointed on that committee.

Mr. Long presented the petition of Samuel L. Solomon,

praying permission to sell certain lands belonging to the estate of Richard L. Watson, deceased, which was laid on the table.

Also the petition of Matthew Parker and others, praying for permission to sell certain property belonging to the estate of John Parker, deceased, which was laid on the table.

Mr. Marvin from the select committee to whom had been referred the petition of Mary J. Thompson, reported a bill for the relief of said person.

The bill entitled an Act for the divorce of Mary J. Thompson, from Alexander Thompson was read the first time and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

The House then went into committee of the whole on certain resolutions touching a draft of the militia. After some time spent in consideration thereof, the committee rose, and Mr. Wood, chairman, reported said resolutions to the House, amended, which report was concurred in by the House and said resolutions were ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

A bill entitled an Act to indemnify the people of Florida, for losses sustained during the present dificulties with the Seminole Indians was referred to a committee of the whole House. The House in committee, took the same under consideration, and after some time spent therein, the comaantee rose, and Mr. Kenan, chairman, reported said bill to the House, with all after the enacting clause stricken out which report was concurred in by the house, and said bill is lost.

A bill entitled an Act, to revive an Act, entitled an Act, to amend an Act, entitled an Act, to organize and regulate the Militia of the Territory of Florida, and to repeal an Act, passed 1st. day of February, 1832, and for other purposes, passed 15th day of January, 1836, was postponed until monday next.

Also a bill entitled an Act, to repeal all laws now in force relating to the Militia in this Territory.

A memorial to congress on the subject of the school lands was postponed till tuesday next.

Certain Resolutions heretofore offered by Mr. Wood, on the subject of an additional representative for Franklin County, were, on motion of Mr. Hart postponed till to-morrow.

A bill entitled an Act, to establish a superior Court, in the county of Dade, in the southern district of Florida, was referred to a committee of the whole House. The House went into committee of the whole on said bill, and when the committe rose, Mr. Downing, chairman, reported said bill to the House, amended, which report was concurred in, and

said bill again was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading to-morrow.

The House then took a recess till three o'clock, P. M. At three o'clock, P. M. no quorum appearing, the President adjourned the House till to-morrow morning 10 o'clock.

The House met pursuant to adjournment: a quorum being present, the Journal of yesterday's proceedings was read.

On motion of Mr. Levy, it is ordered that a bill entitled an Act to amend an in addition to an Act, to incorporate the St. Augustine and Picolata Rail Road Company, was taken from the table and placed among the orders of the day.

Mr. Levy, pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill, entitled an Act to incorporate the Southern College, which was read and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Read gave notice, that he will on some future day ask leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the insurance company of Florida.

Mr. Long, pursuant to previous notice asked and obtained. leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to revive and amend an Act, incorporating the town of Marianna, which was read and ordered for a second reading on to-morrow.

Mr. Shehee pursuant to previous notice, asked and obtained leave to introduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate a company for the establishment of a Ferry across the Ocilla River at the flat ford in Jefferson county, which was read and ordered for a second reading to-morrow.

Mr. Wood, presented the petition of Wm. P. Duval praying the allowance of certain claims which was read and referred to the committee on claims.

Mr. Williams presented the petition of Tillithia Brooks praying to be divorced from her husband, which was read and referred to a select committee.-Messrs. Williams, Tabor and Downing, were appointed on that committee.

Mr. Levy, from the committee on the State of the Territory to whom had been referred so much of the Governor's Message as relates to Indian depredations, reported an address to Congress on that subject, which report was concurred in, and said address being read, one hundred copies on motion of Mr. Gilliland were ordered to be printed.

On motion of Mr. Levy, the vote taken on a bill, entitled an Act, to indemnify the people of Florida, for losses sustained during the present dificulties with the Seminole Indians, by which said Bill was lost, was ordered to be reconsidered
