The House went into committee of the whole, on a bill entitled an Act, to amend an Act, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Southern Life Insurance and Trust Company, approved February, 1836. After some time the committee rose, and Mr. Wood, chairman, reported said bill to the House, amended. Which report was concurred in, and said bill was read again the second time, and ordered for a third reading to-morrow.

On motion of Mr. Wright, the vote taken on a bill, entitled an Act, regulating the conveyances of non-residents, was ordered to be reconsidered.

The House went into committee of the whole on a bill entitled an Act, to amend the several Acts heretofore passed in relation to the Bank of Pensacola. After some time, the committee rose, and Mr. Fitzpatrick, chairman reported said bill amended, which report was concurred in, and said bill was ordered to be engrossed for a third reading to-morrow.

The House then took a recess till 3 o'clock P. M. at which time it again met, and proceeded to business.

A bill entitled an Act to increase the Capital Stock of the Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal and Rail-Road Company, and to authorize said company to extend their Rail Road to some point in Middle Florida, was read a third time and the yeas and nays being required by Messrs. Tabor and Brown, on its final passage, were, Yeas-Messrs. Campbell, Fitzpatrick, Kenan, and Shehee, 4. Nays, Messrs. The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act to reorganize the militia of the Territory of Florida. After some time, the committee rose, and Mr. Wood, chairman, reported progress, and asked leave to sit again, which report was agreed to.

The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act, to amend an Act, entitled an Act, to incorporate the subscribers to the Union Bank of Florida. After some time, the committee rose, and Mr. Wright, chairman, reported a substitute for said bill, which report was concurred in, and said bill was read a second and third time, (the rule being waived) and passed. Ordered that the title be as afore stated.

A bill entitled an Act for the relief of J. A. L. Norman, was read a third time, the yeas and nays being required on its final passage, were, Yeas,-Messrs. The House met pursuant to adjournment: a quorum being present, the Journal of yesterday's proceedings was read.

Mr. Wood from the Bank Committee to whom had been referred the report of the Farmers Bank of Florida, made the following report.

The committee on Banks to whom was referred the report of the Farmers Bank of Florida, have had the same under consideration, also a communication from Richard H. Long Esq. a member of this House from Jackson county, and report,

That from the statement made by the President and Cashier of that institution, and the explanations made in the communications referred to. That in their opinion the Bank is in a sound condition, but still believe that the main operations of said Bank are carried on in Houston county Geo. and is of little or no benefit to the citizens of this Territory. The committee would also remark that the report made by this Bank is not in accordance with the law passed Feb. 1833. They recommend that the Executive be requested to call the attention to the law by a circular communication at a convenient time. E. J. WOOD,
