Tallahassee, was read a third time and passed. Ordered that the title be as afore stated.

The House went into committee of the whole, on a bill entitled an Act, to amend an Act, entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Southern Life Insurance and Trust Company, approved February, 1836. After some time the committee rose, and Mr. Wood, chairman, reported said bill to the House, amended. Which report was concurred in, and said bill was read again the second time, and ordered for a third reading to-morrow.

Mr. Shehee from the committee on enrolments, reported the following bills to the House as correctly enroled, viz:

An Act to prevent the unlawful and violent taking of personal property.

An Act to authorize John N. C. Stockton to establish a ferry across the Choctawhatchie river at the cow-ford.

An Act to incorporate the Washington Lumber Company.

An Act to amend an Act, to incorporate the East Florida Rail-Road Company, passed February 14th, 1835.

An Act to authorize John Bellamy, to render the Ocilla river navigable.

An Act regulating the conveyance of non-residents.

On motion of Mr. Wright, the vote taken on a bill, entitled an Act, regulating the conveyances of non-residents, was ordered to be reconsidered.

The House went into committee of the whole on a bill entitled an Act, to amend the several Acts heretofore passed in relation to the Bank of Pensacola. After some time, the committee rose, and Mr. Fitzpatrick, chairman reported said bill amended, which report was concurred in, and said bill was ordered to be engrossed for a third reading to-morrow.

The House then took a recess till 3 o'clock P. M. at which time it again met, and proceeded to business.

A bill entitled an Act to increase the Capital Stock of the Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal and Rail-Road Company, and to authorize said company to extend their Rail Road to some point in Middle Florida, was read a third time and the yeas and nays being required by Messrs. Tabor and Brown, on its final passage, were, Yeas-Messrs. Campbell, Fitzpatrick, Kenan, and Shehee, 4. Nays, Messrs. Brown, Bryan, Downing, Fernandez, Fontane, Gilliland, Hart, Johnston, Levy, Long, Macon, Marvin, McNeill, Read, Robinson

Stewart, Tabor, Taylor, Williams, Wood and Wright, 21. So said bill is lost.

The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act to amend an Act, entitled an Act to incorporate a company to be called the St. Andrew's and Chipola Canal Company. After some time the committee rose, and Mr. Tabor, chairman, reported said bill to the House amended, which report was concurred in, and said bill was again read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading to-mor

The House then took a recess till 7 o'clock P. M. when it again met and proceeded to business.

The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act to reorganize the militia of the Territory of Florida. After some time, the committee rose, and Mr. Wood, chairman, reported progress, and asked leave to sit again, which report was agreed to.

The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act, to amend an Act, entitled an Act, to incorporate the subscribers to the Union Bank of Florida. After some time, the committee rose, and Mr. Wright, chairman, reported a substitute for said bill, which report was concurred in, and said bill was read a second and third time, (the rule being waived) and passed. Ordered that the title be as afore stated.

A bill entitled an Act for the relief of J. A. L. Norman, was read a third time, the yeas and nays being required on its final passage, were, Yeas,-Messrs. Fitzpatrick, Kenan, Levy, Macon, Read, Tabor, Taylor and Wright, 8.__ Nays, Messrs. Brown, Campbell, Downing, Fernández, Fontane, Gilliland, Hart, Johnson, Long, Marvin, Robinson, Stewart and Williams, 13. So said bill is lost.

A bill entitled an Act, to authorize Charles S. Tomlinson, to sell the real estate of Ward Burcham, deceased, was read a third time and passed. Ordered that the title be as above stated..

The House went into committee on a bill for the relief of Francis J. Ross, and for other purposes. After some time, the committee rose, and Mr. Wright, chairman, reported said bill amended, which report was concurred in, and said bill was read a second and third time, the yeas and nays being required by Messrs. Johnston and Tabor, on the question of its passage, were, Yeas,-Messrs. Brown, Downing Fitzpatrick, Hart, Marvin, Read, Robinson, Tabor and Williams, 9. Nays, Messrs. Campbell, Fernandez, Fontane, Gilliland, Johnston, Kenan, Levy, Long, Macon, Shehee, Stewart and Wright, 13. So said bill is lost.

A bill entitled an Act, to amend the several Acts, incorporating the Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal and Rail-Road company, was read a third time and passed. Ordered that the title be as above stated.

The House then adjourned until to-morrow morning at 9 o'clock.

SUNDAY, Feb. 12th 1837.

The House met pursuant to adjournment: a quorum being present, the Journal of yesterday's proceedings was read.

Mr. Wood from the Bank Committee to whom had been referred the report of the Farmers Bank of Florida, made the following report.

The committee on Banks to whom was referred the report of the Farmers Bank of Florida, have had the same under consideration, also a communication from Richard H. Long Esq. a member of this House from Jackson county, and report,

That from the statement made by the President and Cashier of that institution, and the explanations made in the communications referred to. That in their opinion the Bank is in a sound condition, but still believe that the main operations of said Bank are carried on in Houston county Geo. and is of little or no benefit to the citizens of this Territory. The committee would also remark that the report made by this Bank is not in accordance with the law passed Feb. 1833. They recommend that the Executive be requested to call the attention to the law by a circular communication at a convenient time. E. J. WOOD,

Which was read and concurred in. An Act to amend the incorporation of the city of St. Joseph, was read a third time and passed, ordered that the title be as afore stated.

A bill entitled an Act to amend the several Acts now in force relating to crimes and misdemeanors, was read a third time. On the question of its final passage, the yeas and nays being required by Messrs. Long and Wright, were yeas, Messrs. Fernandez, Fontane, Gilliland and Levy, 4. Nays, Messrs Bryan. Downing, Fitzpatrick, Hart, Johnson, Kenan, Long, Macon Marvin, McNeill, Read Robison, Shehee, Ta bor, Taylor, Williams Wood and Wright, 19. So said bill is lost.

A bill entitled an Act for the relief of John W. Simnton,

was read a third time and passed. Ordered that the title be as afore stated.

A bill entitled an Act to aid the administration of justice in Monroe county was read a third time and passed. Order'ed that the title be as above stated.

A bill entitled an Act to regulate the salaries of certain Territorial officers was read a third time. On the question of its final passage, the yeas and nays being required by Messrs. Tabor and Wright, were yeas, Mr. President, Messrs. Bryan, Downing, Fernandez, Fitzpatrick, Gilliland, Macon, Marvin, Read, Stewart, Williams, Wood, and Wright, 13. Nays, Messrs Hart, Johnson, Kenan, Levy, Long, Robinson, Shehee, Tabor, and Taylor 9. So said bill is passed. Ordered that the title be as above stated.

The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act to aid and facilitate certain works of internal improvements in the Territory of Florida; after some time the committee rose and Mr. Wood, chairman, reported said bill with the -enacting clause stricken out, which report was concurred in. So said bill is lost.

The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act concerning revenue in the Territory of Florida and for other purposes, after some time the committee rose, and Mr. Tabor chairman, reported said bill with the enacting clause stricken out, which report was agreed to. So said bill is lost.

Mr. Shehee from the committee on Enrolments, reported as correctly enrolled, the following bills to wit:

An Act to incorporate the Franklin Suwanee Company. An Act to amend an Act entitled an Act to incorporate the subscribers to the Union Bank of Florida.

An Act to amend the several Acts incorporating the Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal and Rail Road company.

An Act to authorise Charles S. Tomlinson to sell the real estate of Ward Burcham dec.

An Act to incorporate the Florida Insurance Company at Tallahassee.

An Act to incorporate the East and South Florida Canal company.

A bill entitled an Act in addition to the several Acts concerning crimes and misdemeanors, was read the third time and lost.

A bill entitled an Act relating to crimes and misdemeanors committed by slaves was read the third time and lost.

An Act incorporating the Florida Transportation Company was read a third time. The yeas and nays being required on its final passage, by Messrs. Wood and Morton, were yeas, Mr. President, Messrs Bryan, Campbell, Fernandez, Fitzpatrick, Fontane, Gilliland, Hart, Kenan, Long, Marvin, McNeill, Reid, Robinson, Shehee Stewart, Tabor, Williams, Wood, and Wright, 20. Nays, Messrs. Brown Johnson, Macon and Taylor, 4. So said bill passed. Ordered that the title be as before stated.

The House went into committee on a bill entitled an Act to provide for the compensation of the members of the Legis lative Council, and for other purposes. After some time the committee rose, and Mr. Read, reported said bill to the House . amended, which report was concurred in, and said bill read a second and third time (the rule being waived) and passed. Ordered that the title be as before stated.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act therein mentioned, was read a third time. The yeas and nays being required on the question of its final passage, by Messrs. Downing and Fitzpatrick, were yeas, Messrs. Brown, Downing, Fernandez, Fitzpatrick, Fontane, Gilliland, Hart Kenan, Levy, Long, Marvin, Robinson, Tabor, and Williams, 14. Nays, Mr. President, Messrs. Bryan, Campbell, Johnson, Macon, McNeill, Read, Shehee, Stewart, Taylor, Wood and Wright, 12. So said bill passed. Ordered that the title be as before stated.

The House again went into committee of the whole on a bill entitled an Act regulating the fees of certain officers in this Territory, and for other purposes. After some time the committee rose, and Mr. Hart chairman, reported said bill. to the House with the enacting clause stricken out, which report was agreed to, and said bill is lost.
