HYMN 203. P.M.

A DEBTOR to mercy alone,
Of covenant Mercy I sing;
Nor fear, with thy righteousness on,
My person and off'rings to bring:
The terrors of law and

With me can have acting to do;
My Saviour's obedience and blood
Hide all my transgressions from view.

2

The work which his goodness began,
The arm of his strength will complete ;
His promise is yea and amen,

And never was forfeited yet:
Things future, nor things that are now,
Not all things below, nor above,
Can make him his purpose forego,
Or sever my soul from his love.

3

My name from the palms of his hands
Eternity will not erase;
Impress'd on his heart it remains,
In marks of indelible grace:
Yes, I to the end shall endure,
As sure as the earnest is giv'n ;
More happy, but not more secure,
Than glorify'd spirits in heav'n.

HYMN 204. S. M.

YOUR harps, ye trembling saints,
Down from the willows take;
Loud to the praise of Christ our Lord,
Bid ev'ry string awake.

2

Though in a foreign land,
We are not far from home;
And nearer to our house above
We ev'ry moment come.
3

His grace shall to the end
Stronger and brighter

ine;

Nor present things, nor things to come, Shall quench the spark divine.

4

The time of love will come,
When we shall clearly see
Not only that he shed his blood,
But each shall say, "For me."

5

Tarry his leisure then,

Wait the appointed hour;

Wait till the bridegroom of your souls, Reveal his love with pow'r.

6

Bless'd is the man, O God,

That stays himself on thee;

Who waits for thy salvation, Lord,

Shall thy salvation see.

HYMN 205. P. M.

How glorious the Lamb

Is seen on his throne ! His labours are o'er,

His conquests put on ;

A kingdom is giv'n

Into the Lamb's hand,

In earth and in heav'n,
Forever to stand.

Ye sinners below

2

Then trust in the Lord, Look up to his arm,

His honour his word : Athirst for his favour,

His Godhead adore, Look up to your Saviour, And joy evermore!

HYMN 206.

.P. M.

MIGHTY God, while angels bless thee,

May ar. infant lisp thy name? Lord of men, as well as angels,

Thou art ev'ry creature's theme. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen.

2

Lord of ev'ry land and nation,

Ancient of eternal days!

Sounded through the wide creation
Be thy just and lawful praise.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen.

3

For the grandeur of thy nature,

Grand beyond a seraph's thought, For created works of power,

Works with skill and kindness wrought, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen.

4

For thy providence, that governs

Through thine empire's wide domain

Wings an angel, guides a sparrow,
Blessed be thy gentle reign.

;

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen.

Q

5

But thy rich, thy free redemption,
Dark through brightness all along;
Thought is poor, and poor expression,
Who dare sing that awful song?
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen.

6

Brightness of the Father's glory,
Shall thy praise unutter'd lie?
Fly, my tongue, such guilty silence !
Sing the Lord who came to die.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Amen.

HYMN 207.

FATHER, behold us here,

According to thy word;
To worship without fear,

Our dear redeeming Lord;

P. M.

O may thy light and truth now shine,
To warm each heart with love divine !

2

Drawn, wholly drawn, by thee,
To Jesus we are come,
And by thy teaching we

Perceive our work is done :

Through which a title we obtain

As kings and priests, with thee to reign.

3

We bless thee, God of peace,

For life and glory giv❜n,

To us and all the race

Call'd up from earth to heav'n ;

Hasten, great God, the day of love,
When ev'ry soul his grace shall prove.

HYMN 208. L. M.

COME, worship at Immanuel's feet;

See, in his face, what wonders meet!
Words are too feeble to express

His worth, his glory, or his

2

grace.

When shall we climb those higher skies,
Where storms and tempests never rise!
Where he unveils his lovely face,
And shines and reigns the God of grace?

3

Nor earth, nor air, nor sun, nor stars,
Nor heav'n, his full resemblance bears;
His beauties we can never trace,
Till we behold him face to face.

HYMN 209. L. M.

DEAR Shepherd, see thy flock here met, Before thy pierced feet to bow;

To praise thy wounds, thy blood and sweat, Through which eternal love did flow.

2

Thou art with us where'er we meet ;
Nor wilt thou leave us, holy Lamb:
We find a calm, a bless'd retreat
Beneath the cov'ring of thy name.

3

Great mercies thou to us hast shewn,
Since first we knew that we were thine :
Since first thou mark'd us for thine own,
With grace and righteousness divine.

4

Seal'd for thine own we surely are;
Thy spirit, Lord, our witness is:
