clean, and He has washed me in His Blood. Because in myself I am at enmity with God; by Christ's death I am drawn towards God. Because by His death He has purchased for me the gift of the Holy Spirit, by Whom I am sanctified, and made capable of serving God acceptably. Because by His death I am made a partaker of His life of life everlasting.

Q. And lastly, in what point must you examine yourself?

A. Whether I am in charity with, or in a state of love with, all men. Q. How may you ascertain that?

A. I must look carefully into my heart, and try to see if I am harbouring any angry, or malicious, or spiteful feeling towards anyone. Almost everyone has been provoked by some one or other. If I have been provoked, have I forgiven the provocation, and is there not one single soul that I wish to injure by word or deed?

Q. Is that enough?

A. Oh no! I must not only not do any injury to any one by word or decd, or in thought, but I must have a real love in my heart which makes me not only willing, but anxious to do everyone all the good I can; do good not only to those who love me and will thank me, but do good after the example of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and be kind as my Father in Heaven is kind to the unthankful and the evil.

Q. Where can you find me a passage of Scripture that bears out what I have taught about charity or love? A. St. Matt. v. 43-48.

Q. Any chapter in St. Paul's Epistles which treats of charity, that is, love?

A. Yes, the xvth of 1 Corinthians.

(NOTE.-Let the children learn these portions of Scripture.)
