(n) The College Registry states merely that he was Organist in 1675, but does not give his appointment.

(0) In this year, 1688, 24th April, the name of the Rev. John Worrall, B.D., appears amongst the Vicars-Choral of St. Patrick's. He may possibly have been the person here called Werrell, an opinion rendered probable from the fact that Hartis was elected Organist to the University on the 4th May, just ten days after Worrall's appointment to a Vicar-Choralship in St. Patrick's; the vacancy being, in all likelihood, caused by the promotion of the latter. In 1689, Worrall became Minor Canon of St. Patrick's; and, in 1694, Dean's Vicar. In the latter year he was appointed Vicar-Choral of Christ Church; which office he held 58 years, till his death in 1751.-" College Registry," and Cotton's "Fasti."

(u) In Archdeacon Cotton's "Fasti Ecclesiæ Hibernica," amongst the Vicars-Choral of St. Patrick's, two persons of this name are mentioned,--the Rev. Michael Sandys, admitted 1754, and Rev. Michael Sandys, Jun., B.A., 1772. The latter is, most probably, the individual named above as Organist. In 1775 he became Prebendary of Stagonil (Powerscourt); and in 1778, was made Minor Canon and Dean's Vicar.-See "Fasti," vol. 2, pp. 179 and 209; and Mason's "History of St. Patrick's Cathedral," Additional Notes, p. lxxxiii.

A similar instance of an Organist in Holy Orders is to be found in the case of Henry Hall, Sen., Organist of Hereford, who was ordained a Deacon in 1696.-Rimbault's Edition of " Arnold's Cathedral Music."

(v) Assistant to Dr. Doyle.

(w) Assistant to Dr. Warren. Resigned 1833, on being appointed a VicarChoral.

Dublin.
