to rehabilitate industrial plant and procure materials to take the place of those destroyed by fire,"

Reported the same back with the recommendation that the bill do pass and that it be ordered to a first reading.

At this juncture the special committee appointed this morning to receive and escort to the rostrum Hon. William Hale Thompson, mayorelect of Chicago, appeared, accompanied by the mayor-elect, the President of the Senate turned the gavel over to Mr. Ettelson, who introduced Mr. Thompson. The latter then proceeded to address the Senate, at the close of which, at 5:50 o'clock p. m., on motion of Mr. Hughes, the Senate adjourned.
