INCORPORATIONS.

AN ACT

To amend an act entitled an act to Incorporate the University of Nebraska, &c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Nebraska, That Section 1st of an act entitled an act to Incorporate the University of Nebraska, &c., be so changed as that the names of Geo. P. Bergen, A. R. Gilmore, and Amos S. Billingsley shall be inserted, instead of the names of Joseph S. Grimes, Geo. J. Park, and C. D. Martin, and that the said Bergen, Gilmore and Billingsley be and the same are hereby declared to be members of the Board of Trustees of said University. SEC. 2. That the Board of Trustees of said University shall meet at Saratoga, Nebraska Territory, on or before the 1st Monday of June 1858, or as soon thereafter as practicable.

SEC. 3. This act to take effect and remain in full force from and after the date of its passage.

AN ACT

Supplementary to an act entitled an act to Incorporate the city of Fontenelle.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Nebraska, That an act entitled an act supplementary to an act to incorporate the city of Fontenelle, approved January 22nd, 1856, be and is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. That the qualified voters of said city of Fontenelle shall, on the

first Monday of January 1858, hold an election for such officers as are required by the provisions of the act of Incorporation of said city, and the officers so elected shall serve until their successors are elected at the next regular election and qualified to serve.

SEC. 3. Said first election shall be held at the School House in Fontenelle, between the hours of ten o'clock, A. M., and five o'clock, P. M., of the aforesaid day, and B. L. Keyes, John Evans, and Rufus Brown, are hereby appointed judges of said election, and said judges shall be sworn and qualified by any officer authorized to administer oaths, and that said election shall be conducted in the same manner that general elections are conducted, and within three days after said election the said judges shall make returns of the same to the Judge of Probate, of said County of Dodge, and it shall be the duty of the Judge of Probate to issue certificates of election to the persons elected for the respective offices of said city.

SEC. 4. That the next regular election for city officers for said city, shall be held on the first Monday in May, 1858, and thereafter on the first Monday in May in each year.

SEC. 5. That as much of Section eight (8) of an act entitled "An act to incorporate the city of Fontenelle," approved March 14, 1855, as is inconsistent with the provisions of this act, shall be and is hereby repealed, but all and every part not inconsistent herewith, is hereby declared to remain in full force and effect.

SEC. 6. That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

AN ACT

To Incorporate the Town of Greggsport.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Nebraska, That the Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section No. four, the South half of Section No. four and the East half of the Southwest quarter of Section No. five, in Township No. eight, in Range No. (14) fourteen, east now occupied plated and recorded as the town of Greggsport, with all additions legally made thereto, is hereby declared to be a town by the name and style of the town of Greggsport.

SEC. 2. That said town is hereby made a body Corporate and is invested with all the privileges and attributes of a municpal corporation, and may elect such officers, pass such laws, ordinances and rules for the benefit and government of said town, as shall from time to time be deemed expedient and proper, not inconsistent with the laws and constitution of the United States and the laws of this Territory.

SEC. 3. All citizens of said town entitled to vote at County elections, may vote at any election of any officer or officers to be elected for the gov

ernment of said town.

SEC. 4. Whenever a majority of the resident voters of said town shall
