This celebrated Satire on the Fathers of the Dominican and Mendicant orders, written by Father Isla, a Jesuit, caused probably a greater sensation than any work of the kind which ever issued from the press. Denounced in unmeasured terms by the Bishops and the greater part of the Clergy, while upheld stoutly by the Inquisition it came before the general council of Castile, by whose orders it was rigorously suppressed. Copies are now rare.
