Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Waterbury:

SECTION I. No person shall swim or bathe in any of the rivers, streams, brooks or ponds in said city, except at such times and in such places and under such conditions as may be designated by the Board of Public Safety for that purpose. Any person offending against the provisions of this section shall forfeit and pay a penalty of five dollars for every such offense.

SEC. 2. Every person who shall wilfully and maliciously bedaub or besmear any building, fence, post, premises or vehicle with any paint or filthy substance, or make or draw any obscene or filthy figures thereon, shall be deemed guilty of committing a nuisance, and shall forfeit and pay a penalty of not less than five nor more than fifty dollars for every such offense.

SEC. 3. Every sparring exhibition shall be deemed at nuisance, except when permission is first obtained from the Board of Public Safety. All sparring exhibitions shall be under personal police surveillance. Every person taking part in such exhibition without first obtaining such permission shall

forfeit a penalty of not less than twenty-five nor more than one hundred dollars.

SEC. 4. Every person who shall train himself or another person, in whole or in part, in said city, for a prize fight, shall forfeit and pay a penalty of one hundred dollars for every such offense.

SEC. 5. Every person who shall suffer any animal belongnig to him or in his custody, to engage in any fight, concerning which there is or shall be any prize, stake or wager, or who shall keep any animal in said city for any such purpose, shall forfeit and pay a penalty of not less than ten nor more than fifty dollars for every such offense.

SEC. 6. Every person who shall have in his possession in said city any steel, iron or brass knuckles, or any slung shot or weapon of similar character, or shall carry any weapon concealed upon his person, shall forfeit and pay a penalty of not less than five dollars nor more than one hundred dollars for every such offense.

SEG. 7. Any police officer of said city may arrest without warrant any person whom he may have raeson to believe has upon his person any concealed weapon, and may search such person for such weapon, and in case no such weapon shall be found upon him, may thereupon release him from custody.

SEC. 8. The Mayor is authorized and empowered to issue permits to such suitable persons as may apply therefor to carry concealed weapons, whenever in his judgment it is advisable so to do; such permit to be recorded in the office of the Chief of Police in a book kept by him for that purpose, and to be revocable at the pleasure of the Mayor, but no permit shall remain in force for a longer period than one year from date of issuance thereof, and no person having such permit in force shall be liable to arrest under the provisions of this ordinance.

Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Waterbury:

SECTION I. No person shall put or place, or cause to be put or placed, in or upon any street, lane, alley or other public place in the city, any ashes, glass, crockery, scrap iron, nails, tacks or any other articles which would be liable to injure or damage the wheels or tires of bicycles, or of any other vehicles which have wheels with rubber or pneumatic tires.

SEC. 2. Any person violating the provisions of the preceding section shall be liable to and pay a fine not exceeding twenty dollars for each offence.

Be it ordained by the Court of Common Council of the City of Waterbury:

SECTION I. The Court of Common Council of said city shall, by committee or otherwise, provide suitable records, forms and blanks for every license and permit required by the city ordinances, and for applications therefor. Such application blanks shall be furnished to the persons having occasion to use the same, by the proper officer authorized to issue such license or permit, or by the City Clerk.

SEC. 2. Such application shall be signed by the person to whom the license or permit is to be issued, or his authorized agent, and shall specify the time or times and place or places for which such license or permit is desired, the particular nature of the act or acts to be done, and such other particulars as may be required to show that such license or permit may be granted and will be used in accordance with law, and such application shall be numbered and kept on file by the officer to whom directed.

SEC. 3. Applications for licenses and permits may be addressed as follows, viz. :

To the City Clerk.

For Public Exhibitions, etc.-Amusements, § 2.

To the Registrar of Deaths.

For Removing Dead Bodies from the City and Burying, except in Cemeteries.-Burials, etc., see ordinance in relation to.

To the Street Inspector.

For Cleaning Privy Vaults out of Season.-Nuisances, § 12.
For Excavating in Streets.-Streets, §§ 8 and 9.

For Connecting with Mains and Sewers.-Streets, § 9.
For Business of Making Connections with Sewers and Mains.
