AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND IN ADDITION TO AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING LICENSES

AND PERMITS.

Be it ordained by the Court of Common Council of the City of Waterbury:

SEC. 13. Applications for licenses and permits to build. erect, enlarge or move any building within the fire limits of the City of Waterbury, shall be addressed to the Fire Marshal of said city.

SEC. 14. It shall be the duty of the Fire Marshal of said city, upon such application, in each case to grant such license or permit, provided the said building, erecting, enlarging or moving be not contrary to the ordinances of said city, except as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 15. The Fire Marshal of said city shall at all times have the privilege before granting the license or permit aforesaid, to refer the application for the same, together with the facts concerning the matter on which such application is based, to the Board of Fire Commissioners of said city, and, when so referred by said Marshal to said board, the said Board of Fire Commissioners shall have in such case sole and exclusive power to issue upon such application the license or permit desired.

SEC. 16. If any person shall feel aggrieved by the neglect or refusal of the Fire Marshal to issue and grant such license or permit, as provided in section fourteen of this ordinance, he may appeal to said Board of Fire Commissioners, whose order in the premises shall be obeyed, and until such order is made upon such appeal, the decision of the Fire Marshal shall be valid and effectual in the premises.

SEC. 17.

All parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed.

AN ORDINANCE IN ALTERATION OF AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO LICENSES

AND PERMITS.

Be it ordained by the Court of Common Council of the City of Waterbury:

SECTION I. The license fee charged for vending goods from house to house in the streets of said city, pursuant to the provisions of section ten of the ordinance relating to trade, shall be twenty dollars. Any ordinance or part of any ordinance inconsistent with this section is hereby repealed.

Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Waterbury:

SECTION 1. On and after the passage of this ordinance, the sale of milk within the limits of this city is hereby prohibited, excepting by such persons as shall first register their names, residences and numbers in a book kept for such purpose at the office of the clerk of this city.

SEC. 2. All persons who have registered, as aforesaid, at the office of the clerk of this city, pursuant to a vote passed by the Board of Aldermen of this city, January 7, 1901, shall be deemed to have registered under the provisions of this ordi

nance.

SEC. 3. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than ten dollars ($10) and not more than one hundred dollars ($100).

Be it ordained by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Water

bury:

SECTION I.

Whenever it shall be found necessary by the Board of Aldermen to borrow money for the use of the city, in anticipation of the payment of any tax or assessment previously laid, or for the temporary needs of the city, the Board of Aldermen may provide for the manner and terms of effecting such a loan.

SEC. 2. The amount of money so borrowed, together with the amount expended, and the amount on hand shall at no time be in excess of the estimated income of said city for the year in which such money shall be so borrowed.

27. Stables, pens, etc., for cows, to be kept in clean condition; sale of milk forbidden under certain conditions. 28. Private sewers, cesspools, etc., must be discontinued within sixty days after completion of public sewer.

29. Manure from horse stables removed; time set.

30. Penalty for violating provisions of ordinance.
