THE Parables 'of our blessed Lord have been always understood to comprehend a very copious fund of divine and spiritual truth. And therefore they have been repeatedly chosen in different ages and countries for arguments both of doctrinal and practical discourse. So frequently discussed as they have already been, it would be a vain attempt at this day to seek after novelty whether of illustration or improvement. The whole that can now be done to any useful purpose, and what has been attempted in the present undertaking, is to place the Parables in the clearest and the most instructive point of view.
