The twenty-fifth session of the National Conference of Charities and Correction was held in New York City, May 18-25, 1898. The Introduction, which has been carefully edited by Mr. F. B. Sanborn, contains a full account of the special exercises in commemoration of the quarter-century anniversary, as well as a résumé of the progress that has been made in the last twenty-five years in matters of charity and correction. By special request reproductions are inserted in the Introduction of two groups of officers of the Conference which were taken in New York during the last meeting.
