I certify that (Owner's Name) Bay Colt, (Name) by (Sire and Age,) was brought to the Stand-House on the Curragh, and there entered with me, between the Hours of Four and Six o'clock in the Evening, on (Naming Day of Month and Year, which must be on the Friday before each Meeting,) that said Horse on (Naming the Day and Day of the Month and Year,) started before Two o'clock, for his Majesty's Plate of One Hundred Guineas, which he won, carrying (Here name the Weight and Distance.)

Ranger of the Curragh.

* Any Horse who never ran on the Curragh must be shown at the time of entrance.

If the Ranger is not at the Curragh to sign the Certificate, the Deputy Ranger signs his Name thereto, and then makes it payable at the Right Hon. the Deputy Vice-Treasurer's, Castle Yard.- In case the Ranger is not in the Kingdom, the Deputy Ranger's signature is sufficient.)-The Certificate is then taken to the Auditor General's Office, by the Winner of the

Plate or the Person to whom he makes it payable; who thereupon receives the value for it, his signature being a sufficient receipt.

N. B. The Certificate, when properly signed, is payable at sight to the Winner of the Plate, or to any other Person, if endorsed by the Winner.

The Ranger of the Curragh of Kildare begs to inform the Gentlemen of the Turf, that for the future, all Horses that are to run for any of his Majesty's Plates on that Course, must be ready to start a quarter of an-hour before Two o'clock in the Afternoon, and if this rule is not strictly complied with, the necessary Certificate cannot be granted, to entitle the winning horse to receive the Plate, as he has got directions from Government not to grant such Certificate, without a strict observance of this order.

FROM

THE RULES AND ORDERS

OF THE

TURF CLUB.

Admissions, Payments, Exemptions, &c.

1. Any person desirous of becoming a Member of the Coffee-Room, must have his name put up over the chimney-piece of said room in the Turf Club House, Kildare, one day before the day of the ballot, and be proposed by a Steward of the Turf Club, or by a person appointed to act as Steward during the Meeting in which he is so proposed, and be seconded by another Member. To constitute a ballot, there must be, at least, seven Members present, one of whom to be the Steward proposing. One black bean in seven-two He eleven, and three in any number, to exclude. No ballot till the admission money, which is Three Sovereigns, is paid to the Secretary.

2. Any Member of the Coffee-room desirous to become a member of the Turf Club, must have his name put over the chimney-pieces of the Coffee-Room and Turf Club Dinner-Room, one day before the day of the ballot, and be proposed, seconded and balloted for as for the Coffee-Room. Three Sovereigns additional is to be paid to the Secretary before the ballot takes place.

3. Members of Daly's and Kildare-street Clubs are admitted Members of the Turf Club and Coffee, Room at Kildare, without a ballot, on paying the usual admission money.

4. Annual Subscriptions of One Sovereign to be paid by each Member of the Coffee-Room, and Three Sovereigns by each Member of both, on Monday of each April Meeting, and this sum to be considered in full of all arreats to both. And no Member of the Turf Club can be allowed to Dine with the Club, or cau any Member be allowed into the Coffee-Room until his Subscription be paid.

5. That for the future, each Member of the Turf Club attending at the Curragh Meetings shall be obliged to pay One Sovereign Subscription towards the Handicaps, and that the Keeper of the Club shall col lect the same with the Dinner Bill on the first day each Member dines with the Club.

6 Each Member of the Turf Club shall pay the Keeper of the Match-Book 2 Sovs. each Meeting, otherwise he is not obliged to keep an Account for such Member. He is also entitled to Five Shillings / for every Signature to every Article; and he is not to receive any nomination unless accompanied with that sum. Should Articles be sent to him from Country Stewards, they must be accompanied with Five Shillings, and the letter to be post paid..

7. Military Officers on duty out of Ireland, shall not be liable to pay the Annual Subscription for the time they may be so absent, on their signing a declaration to that effect.

8. The Club House being in a delapidated and ruinous state, it was agreed in June Meeting, 1845, that each Member of the Turf Club who had not subscribed, should pay Five Guineas towards the erection of a New Club-House, said sum to be paid before the

last day of the (then) next October Meeting; and that any Member neglecting to pay the same, should be no longer considered a Member, but might be balloted for at any subsequent Meeting, and if admitted, should not be liable to pay any other admission than said Five Guineas.

9. Winners of Prizes exceeding 50 Sovs. shall pay 4 Sovs. all others 2 Sovs for Scales, Straw, and Judge; and such sums are to be paid when compromise or forfeit are received, whether the horse receiving walk over or not.

10. Winners of Prizes exceeding 100 Sovs. in their clear value, and under 200 Sovs. shall pay Five per cent.; of 200 Sovs. or upwards, Ten per cent, on the sum actually paid; and the Fund thus raised, shall, after defraying the Rent and necessary expenses of the Club-House, be appropriated by the then Stewards to Racing purposes.

11. That for the future, the Keeper of the MatchBook shall be allowed to retain the following sums from Winners of all Stakes, &c., run for at the Curragh.

Under 250 sovs. and amounting to 65 sovs. 12. Any Member of the Turf Club residing within two miles of the Curragh, who shall entertain at Dinner a Member of the Club, shall pay to the Keeper of the Club, One Guinea for himself, and One Guinea for each Member, each day, during any Meeting; to be ascertained on honor of the Member entertaining.

Appointment of Stewards, their power, &c. 13. The Stewards of the Club are three in uumber, the senior of whom is to retire, and his successor to be appointed, after dinner, on Friday of each April Meeting, by ballot of the Members present.
