The Author left a copy of his "Historical Memoirs of My Own Time" with numerous MS. alterations and corrections, to which were afterwards added Notes by Mrs. Piozzi and Dr. Doran. The present edition is printed from this copy. The Posthumous Memoirs also contain notes by Dr. Doran, and the editor has had the advantage of using a copy of both books, with Notes made by a contemporary of Wraxall, at the time of their original publication. Wraxall left a manuscript containing an additional chapter to his Memoirs, which is now printed for the first time. This edition is completed by the addition of an Index to the two works in one alphabet.
