The nature of the issue and character of the parties, and the dramatic incidents of the trial as portrayed in the evidence now reproduced in this authentic form, must have an unfailing interest to the general reader. The report is prepared from the shorthand notes of Messrs. A. F. WARBURTON, WILLIAM F. BONYNGE, FRED. M. ADAMS, and TIMOTHY BIGELOW.
