On motion of Mr. Dennis,

The last mentioned resolution was laid on the table.

No. 7, (H. of R.) 'Resolution for the appointment of a committee to examine the bank of Mineral Point ;'

Was taken up;

And the question having been put on concurring in the amendments of the Council to said resolution,

It was decided in the negative.

Mr. MaGone introduced the following resolution, which was adopted, to wit:

Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of this House be authorized to employ such additional assistance as may be required until the final adjournment of the Legislature."

As correctly engrossed.

Mr. Burnett, from the committee on the Judiciary, to which had been referred the petition of Royal S. Sykes for a divorce, asked leave to return said petition and papers to the House without making any report thereon, and to be discharged from the further consideration of the subject;

The committee was so discharged.

And on his motion, leave was given the petitioner to withdraw the papers relating thereto;

Leave was granted.
